I really thought long and hard about modifying the injen exhaust. In the end, by the time I bought a new muffler and tips, I could have had a custom built set up at a speed shop with mandrel bends anyway. That was when I decided that it would be worth my time to build what I wanted.

I got the MBRP kit put on last weekend. I think I'll be buying something else pretty soon. This exhaust resonates really bad and I'm pretty sure 3" piping is entirely too much for the needs of this car.

Might pick up the Mountune, but the goal of buying an exhaust was to not have chamber at the back because it interferes with the trailer hitch. The mountune rear chamber looks to be smaller than stock though, so maybe it will work with minimal tapping with a bit of drop in the hangers.

I wish the CPE nexus exhaust wasn't so expensive!
I would have considered that exhaust if they didn't doctor the video at the part of interior sound. They made it seem quieter than the stock exhaust despite this thing being pretty much a straight pipe but even louder somehow.

Helmholtz resonator ??? Not sure how effective they are... How was the video doctored? Not defending them, just curious about your reference material in that statement... More educated means better exhaust purchase...

Here is the video.

At around 1:45 - 2:00 you can see that they barely gave the car juice to go around that bend when in earlier while showing stock they were WOT.
From there at 2:00 to 2:24 it is so blatantly obvious. Like, where are the road noises? Where are the sounds that our cars make while on the highway? You know the sound. It's practically not there. Hell, when he shifts you can't even hear the shifter let alone anything else.

And then again at 3:10-3:50. It's so blatantly obvious. Not only were they running a straight pipe, but they also did a CATLESS DP! How the hell is that thing not droning? If someone else on this forum were to buy it and give me an un edited video of the interior sound and exterior doing WOT which proved me wrong that would be great. If I can be proven wrong then I will take back everything I said and congratulate the company for making such an amazing product.

But until then I hold that they are more or less lying about how the exhaust really is.

i really wanted the exhaust when I heard the exterior rev the first time because I thought it sounded pretty beastly, but then the rest of the video ruined it.

Obviously I opened a for here. For essentially 1000 bones I'd like to hear more sound clips, before I decide.... Either way I can't afford it right now lol ;)

Yeah it would appear there is something a little weird going on if cabin noise gets dead quiet after putting a louder exhaust on. Not bashing their product but yeah that vid is a little sus in my book. Perhaps someone other than CPE has installed it to show us the magic but to me it seems like they've just faded down the audio.

I was surprised how quite the Cobb cbe was compared to my Borla exhaust. I'd say that it was actually a little quieter then the Borla.

I love my cobb exhaust. I find it perfect but I also don't want something loud like the others I've heard things about.
