Sour, the failure started in the outside of the circular gear. There is evidence of fatigue on the right side of this fracture photo. Looks like a bad part. It should have failed from the inside, at the gear, not from the outside.

Well, as we should all know, torque over time makes horsepower. Save the torque, save the cheerlea...err, horsepower.

WestcoaST: I'm not sure what the real cause was. But I running it with the grease slinging out of it for months prob was not good.

I also know that wheel hop at the track is not resolved by 1 rrm on street tires.

I'm not bad at it for failing, although It didn't hurt my account right at X-mas. But, I played, it went faster than my goal, and then I paid.

Figured I'd let my cat out of the box to bump this with some relevant information. What you'll see below in the picture is from a couple weeks ago. The most important thing to look at is v8.6. I made 235 on my 8.7 revision but I don't currently have a picture of that. Also, it's important to keep in mind that the drop off is because we turned the boost WAY down. With the cold temperatures I'm pulling a whole lot of air in up top so I'm blowing out my spark. We're working on it to figure out the best tapering to go with. Oh, this is on 93, btw.

That's AWESOME numbers on 93oct.
I don't know what we are going to do about the spark blow out...

Just imagine.... What it could do on oxygenated 93 octane !!! Lmao. Jk.

I don't know either. I guess I'm going to give indexing a try as you can only gap but so tight until you start seeing decreases in power. Trust me, I've tried lol.

Great numbers indeed:)

The only thing I can think of besides indexing the plugs is pulling the intake air right behind the radiator or even back by the DP in cold weather.

When the snow clears up I will continue on my E30 tune and disconnect the intake from the grill and put one on coming from behind the radiator area to see if it helps.

I'm fairly certain that once I get an upgraded IC and charge pipes plus a downpipe this turbo will be the next step.

All of the aftermarket turbo upgrades are too much and alter the power delivery beyond what I want. This modded stock turbo keeps just enough down low and then keeps building up top.

I wouldn't be doing anything crazy like meth or corn. Just straight 93 octane.

I'm still working on it :)
Still have a "need list".
Bigger intercooler
Compressor output pipe
2J race intake.

Sour, so do we need to sent you the core to be turned into Cyborgs or you do like core exchange?

I do either. If you can afford the down time, you can just send me yours. That also gives you time to port your manifolds vs paying me to do them.

If not, its a $400 core charge that I refund once I get your good un-damaged rebuildable core.

I've had guys to every variation. Some just send me the turbo/manifolds, some pay the core charge, and one guy actually just bought the turbo/core and didn't have to send me anything. I've pretty flexable.
