Yes, if you are going to change it often (like at the 3K miles which most seem to consider very wasteful, even for much
lesser oils than we are discussing) then the OE series would be fine, but then most of the synthetics on the shelf at Wal Mart, or whichever equivalent stores you have near you in the great Northwest, are also just fine, and of a similar NOACK number, TBN, and base stock/additive pack composition.
For me (but yes, admittedly, I AM
most definitely 'overkill OCD' about this stuff!), I just like the much higher PAO base stock content, and better additive pack (
besides the significantly lower volatility due to the base stock's high PAO content, which helps repel/lessen LSPI in TDI engines) of their Sig Series.
