Ported stock manifold and turbine housing

Thanks, it was a labor of love and now I am not going to need it.....I figure I would want around $300 for it and a stock manifold unless I decide to sell the stock turbo.

I wander what the turbo is worth, might be a good thing for somebody to have a spare that is really pushing the little bugger hard.

MUCH larger ports, always best to have them bigger than the outlet of the head and at the turbo flange smaller than the input to the turbo.

Not only where the stock ports much smaller they were off shape, seemed some areas blocked some of the head ports, rough casting, lumps, ridges, etc.....I was shocked it was so bad.

I was shocked by it not bolting up center stock !!
Look at my pics. U can see the black rings around ports.

I would not expect that, I figured spool a bit faster which is really not needed, at least most of the time but it seems to really be more responsive down low as well. And, I was hoping a bit more top end flow which I bet it has and really needed. That it does so much more is what I am shocked by:)

I had posted in a thread before about the AC sucking up so much power, it really hurt the car's performance. Now... Its just fine.

Wait a minute. So the stock ex.manifold is smaller and oddly shaped compared to the stock exhaust ports on the head?

Wouldn't the resulting, supposedly, turbulent flow cause spool-up issues for the turbo (lack of smoothness)? Or because the turbo inlet is so tiny all the turbulence gets "crushed" out anyway?

Yes. The stock manifold neither fits size wise or even alignment. Which is why its crazy not to touch it :)
Cyborg turbo or not, everyone should be porting these manifolds, unless your going with a totally different turbo with a new new manifold.

Nice cheap project for the weekend-wrencher I guess.

A very very good mod most anybody can DIY and should even on a totally stock turbo:)
