Oh well, thanks.
I only ask because the hot side will not work on my car so it would just be a paper weight or try to pawn it off.

was it ever confirmed how to make a stock FoST ice fit? Maybe able to get one free....
This...bump. Also just found one basically free.
Tried to search and it led to the middle of this thread which then sidetracked so couldn't find an answer in here.
Anyone?

Can't say for sure, as I haven't tried it, but I doubt it. The mounting hardware is completely different. So, you would need to custom fab a mount. At that point, you might as well get a J Line. Also, isn't there a MAP sensor in the end tank of the FoST IC?

I don't know about the FoST IC hence asking. Lol and yes I know it won't be direct, but neither is the J line and this is free Jline like $300. And tbh the only thing keeping me from a Jline is the fact that you sold yours due to fitment issues coincidentally enough :p

Also, is J-line the only "universal" that we can use?

Ah, okay. I thought you said you had one, so assumed you could look at the end tank.

I have the FoST one and it does have a hole for a sensor and it does need to be plugged to use on a FiST. Not sure abut anything else however. Would be nice to see the details from the guy who made it work

It requires more work than its worth, which says a lot for something that can be had for very near free.

FYI, the cp-e intercooler is currently 20% off during their sale. I think it's the biggest factory fit, or one of. Happy with mine so far, but it's chilly... Real test will come in the summer.

Efficiency really depends on their core design. A larger intercooler doesn't always make a system more efficient. That being said, it doesn't necessarily mean an intercooler is less efficient either... you really need to know the internal volumetric capacity and the fin density... take that data and combine it with the turbo's ability to move CFM to try to find the right deltas for intercooler sizing. The stock turbo is rather small so if you simply throw a large intercooler at it, it could potentially result in more lag and less CFM to the throttle body... that being said, I don't necessarily know that it is the case with their intercooler... it could very well be well thought out, but it is food for thought. We selected a core capable of supporting a lot of power in combination with smaller turbos like the factory turbo... but could also support slightly larger turbos... resulting in the least amount of lag and the most about of cooling capacity for best possible response.

Hey folk - realizing how cheap getting to stage 3 can be.................

Some good info here, thanks. I saw a bit about the MTC but then no much more, and noticed it's not on the "which FMIC did you choose" poll at all. Any more info on these? I find them on eBay for about $400 shipped from the UK, and they seem to be almost a perfect fit, and basically the same product as the Cobb, for half the price.

Thanks.

I wouldn't just rush to stage 3. Not all bolt-ons are created equal. If it were me, I'd spend an extra $100 and get something that's a known commodity and dyno tested from a vendor that's active on the forums and stands behind their products: http://www.maperformance.com/map-20...pipe-upgrade-2014-ford-fiesta-st-fist-ic.html. FYI--I'm in no way affiliated with them, just admire their work.

Not all dynos are created equal, and cobbs stage3 dyno numbers are a huge example of that... Anyone have a OTS cobb stage3 car that's made 200whp on a real actual dyno? I mean.... Besides cobb...

Cobb products are proven to work by.... Cobb. What could go wrong? Lol.

Not saying they have bad products or anything. But when I first bought the car, all I read was about how the coming of "baby jesus cobb products" were coming and they were flawlessly designed and always backed up their claims, and all these great things.. Be be totally honest,
They seem like well designed products for extremely extremely mild improvements over bone stock parts.

As far as I'm concerned, Cobb is a super bad-ace awesome tuner software company that is doing a great job in that area. Ole yea, and sometimes they sell slightly better than stock, very over priced hard parts too.

Frankly, I'm glad someone ripped off their intercooler. Its not a $600-$700 no matter who's name is on it, and I feel bad for the people that bought them under those "217whp OTS stage3" pretenses.

2J race cooler
CP-E cooler
MA performance cooler
All look to be and likely are way way better coolers at the same or much lower prices.
And of course there is the king mack-daddy cooler DHM sells.

Just no reason to buy a real cobb intercooler. In air intake. Or downpipe. Or RMM or anything else for the fist other than the access port and race tuner.

Seems like they are content with having the weakest hard parts too, since they stopped developing parts with the air intake...

Hard to be mad at them, their business model clearly as served them well. But they need to drop their prices or start developing new products.

And yes.... That 217whp claim on a OTS stage3 is clearly still bothering me like 13-18months later, lol.

Agreed, and you get what you pay for....but there are true gems out there and I'm trying to find them before I spend double on a Cobb. I love Cobb stuff. So the goal is to find something that was made by someone who actually cared, but not dip into the plethora of garbage made cheaply and sold cheaply...there is a huge difference.

Very well said. Having used Cobb stuff on my Subaru years ago, I can say that I understand. Cobb is like an insurance policy - they have a reputation, make beautiful stuff, are backed by famous rich people, have their stickers all over the magazines. So you're paying for that reputation and security, it's sort of like an easy in-road for beginning modders. But I think it's great - they keep it safe, no surprises....and conservative enough so you're not gonna blow your car up if you buy their stuff and follow their orders.
