Not all bolt-ons are created equal. "dyno tested" [/url]. FYI--I'm in no way affiliated with them, just admire their work.
Not all dynos are created equal, and cobbs stage3 dyno numbers are a huge example of that... Anyone have a OTS cobb stage3 car that's made 200whp on a real actual dyno? I mean.... Besides cobb...
Cobb products are proven to work by.... Cobb. What could go wrong? Lol.
Not saying they have bad products or anything. But when I first bought the car, all I read was about how the coming of "baby jesus cobb products" were coming and they were flawlessly designed and always backed up their claims, and all these great things.. Be be totally honest,
They seem like well designed products for extremely extremely mild improvements over bone stock parts.
As far as I'm concerned, Cobb is a super bad-ace awesome tuner software company that is doing a great job in that area. Ole yea, and sometimes they sell slightly better than stock, very over priced hard parts too.
Frankly, I'm glad someone ripped off their intercooler. Its not a $600-$700 no matter who's name is on it, and I feel bad for the people that bought them under those "217whp OTS stage3" pretenses.
2J race cooler
CP-E cooler
MA performance cooler
All look to be and likely are way way better coolers at the same or much lower prices.
And of course there is the king mack-daddy cooler DHM sells.
Just no reason to buy a real cobb intercooler. In air intake. Or downpipe. Or RMM or anything else for the fist other than the access port and race tuner.
Seems like they are content with having the weakest hard parts too, since they stopped developing parts with the air intake...
Hard to be mad at them, their business model clearly as served them well. But they need to drop their prices or start developing new products.
And yes.... That 217whp claim on a OTS stage3 is clearly still bothering me like 13-18months later, lol.
