As discussed before, the spare and jack weigh about 40 lbs, but lets go with the 25 pounds you suggested, Egg:
Sure, this is just a blast from 0-60 (and a modeled one at at that), but lighter weight helps in all aspects of of performance- braking and turning as well as acceleration.
Some people would say that 45 thousandths of a second is minimal, but I have been in numerous autocross events where the gaps were even smaller.
I think you can get too obsessive about weight savings, but losing 25 or 40 pounds would have real world effects.
That being said, do whatever makes you happy.
