If not, there's so many IC's that are sufficient... js.
This race intercooler market is pretty small.

You say that, but those large ones you see are still "thin" by comparison when you look at the DHM race IC.
They're just much taller.
You really don't need a race IC until you're past 330 whp IMO and experience.

And after that you need a $1,000 aux fuel kit and "bigger" turbo.
All for what? Another 50whp until you hit 380 and need a full engine build?

I think I'll keep my Fist at the 300 whp mark for the long haul. The cost to get that extra 80 hp isn't worth it IMO.
I also don't like hovering around engine internal limits.
I have a safe buffer zone rn.

Everyone has reasons for their purchase choices and financial situations to support those choices or not. We all have to contemplate decisions.

I'm easily at 300whp/300wtrq on 91 octane alone with the GTX2860R limited by the stock fuel supply. Aside from the power increase and fuel supplement I wanted the aux fuel to help clean and keep the intake valves clean. The race intercooler was the icing on the cake for me. I got it because I could and I wanted to help support DHM with their endeavors.

300 PEAK to the front wheels is MORE THAN enough for me, as I will never drag/street/roll race, and have no need, nor desire to keep up with (or pass) stock Ferraris, P-cars, nor domestic muscle/sports cars on a road course, just to 'show them up for fun'.
Hopefully, the cp-e IC can handle that power level without heat soaking too badly, until it gets very hot in ambient temps.

Plus, I won't even THINK about that 300 pony setup until there is at least a Wavetrac diff in the transaxle either.

I was just asking for those who are compelled to have that 350+ to the wheels, and DO therefore need a DHM Race-like IC. ;)

It seems to me that the market is so small for those going to that power level in this platform, that it just does not pay for anyone (besides what DHM already did) to R&D, and then build a giganormous IC, and requisite crashbar for these cars.
They would have to charge more than most would be willing to pay for the lack of volume, in order to create ANY profit from the part. [:(]
(I guess in that respect, the DHM Race was a STEAL for their asking price!)

I've communicated directly with Wagner and can confirm this intercooler will not fit the US Fiesta ST although I wish it did
Not quite yet Pat Sajak....hold the wheel..you know I love you Ron..Oh but it will...with slight modding on our vehicle. There was a post a while back I read on this CAC....it will fit but it needed to be tilted backwards from what I gathered from the article.

just wrote up a super long paragraph describing why the CP-E intercooler is big enough for your needs and google chrome crashed. Awesome.

Summary: Ive done extensive testing of this intercooler. Ive had it on my car for since before it was released. Ive had two different turbos and done over 100 datalogs.

When pushing 32lb/min @ 7k rpm, the rise in temp from 2500-7000 rpm on the pull was about 9 degrees F. (1lb/min is about 10hp of air, aka 320chp). This rise in temp is nowhere near where it would start pulling timing from heat or anything of the sort. (outside temp was about 55, started pull at 56 degrees, ended at 65 degrees). This was with plenty of throttle closures, which make matters worse, compressing air against a closed throttle creates heat. This is also with a hybrid turbo, flowing way out of its efficiency range. Take a GTX2860R gen 2, which has peak efficiency at 20-35lb/min and you will see much better results.

Pair that with the fact that you have a limited flow area in the lower grille of the fiesta ST. The main method of heat transfer in an intercooler is convection which is propotional to the surface area and velocity of air hitting said surface area. The CP-E intercooler takes up the most amount of the grille with core (heat transfer surface area) with the 29" long core (cant find another intercooler with a longer core). While some other intercoolers are taller, the 6.25 inch height of the core is pretty much the total height of the grille opening.

Heres some reading on some testing we did on our intercoolers a while back. while its not a fiesta, the same principal applies. Less pressure drop, more efficiency, maximizing both core size and frontal area.

OK, very true, but then one could just keep on going until you get to the point where you are grenading even the best over-built long block, with even the best internal, FULL RACE components.

WHY stop at 380?
Why not 475, 525, 680+?!? [dunno] (which will then make your 380 seems slow)

There has to be a point where power is exclusively a dyno queen bragging right, since it will become useless through the front wheels unless you go to a FULL ON drag race FWD suspension setup, with a spool/welded diff (and tube framing the whole front clip to fit the needed slicks) which is less than useless on the street (IF not outright DANGEROUS).

Also, unless it all comes on way up top, it is also useless for launching off of apexes on a road course, since the front wheels will just break loose at half throttle, regardless of how sticky an R compound/road race slick you have on the car.

mitch I just installed one of your ic. couldn't be happier. there is a little triangle plastic support piece dead center of the grill opening that needs to be removed. it hold the lower splash panel. sorry for the lack of explicit explanation. not complaining, just mentioning so the instructions could be updated. I almost stabbed the ic with it.

Given the loads of big intercoolers available for the EUDM FiST, do we really need a new big IC or a new crashbar that will allow us to fit EUDM intercoolers?
