a spacer wouldn't solve this issue because it's the top of the caliper that doesn't clear the wheel.

They don't clear. I just test fitted it. It's really really close, but just enough to not clear. It's not the spokes that don't clear the caliper, it's the top of the caliper sitting less than 1mm away from the wheel. If you look at the pictures below, you can kind of see how close it is. The brake bleeder nipple is touching the inside of the wheel.



Not sure if you have the rear brakes too but the rears are harder to fit than the front. Wilwoods clear my 16's easily on front but had to do some cutting to get the rears to clear.

Are you using the wilwood 12" rotors + 6 piston calipers in the front? If you look at the pictures I posted, I wouldn't call that easily clear. The bleeder nipple touches the rim.

There's a guy around here who sells brand new, OEM hubs and rotors drilled in 4x100 for a good price, was gonna go that route if I couldn't get nice 4x108 wheels. I don't want to step on Oakos toes in their own forum by posting his info, but a google session should get you there quickly.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I use a different 16" with more clearance. Just trying to note even if you got the bleeder valve to clear, for people with the rear kit as well there is even less clearance.

I fit the 16x8 RPF1, 4x100, over my DIY WW 6 piston 11.75" BBK with a bit of room to spare but found a way to pull in the calipers a bit more and now have 15x8 6UL.

I love the RPF1 and have had many sets of them but it was easy to tell they would not fit over the regular WW BBKs with 12.19 rotors.

I bet you could make them fit if you took the caliper mounts to a good machine shop and had them mod, better yet make them new, mounts to pull the calipers in just a bit as they only really need a few mm to not rub under cornering forces.

Looks far better in fitment on the 7" wide wheel than expected due to having a 7.5" tread width I would normally only put them on an 8 unless no choice but these look really good.

Reason why is the sidewall design extends outside the width of the wheel which lip to lip is 8" and "cantiliver" of the sidewall supports the tread width really well.

I understand this as have had a Hoosier race tire 225 labeled tire that might of had a 10" tread width designed to work on 7" wheels to get around the racing rules and the worked really well though were quite heavy.

Please post up or somebody else doing this more pics of the sidewall, I hope to really like what I see and with some feedback from autocrossers I might just endorse such a pairing, that tire and wheel width ocule be a dang fine deal for many here:)

I know that the RE71R is everyone's current "must have-go to" autocross tire, but those Rival S 1.2s in 215/45-16 just look SO MUCH better to me, despite the lack of the supposedly "needed" stretch on a 16x7 wheel. ;)

(NO H/S dictated, gravel rally ride height look. [mad])

yep I was looking at 205/45-16 RE-71R vs. 215/45-16 Rival-S 1.5 but picked the RE-71R because Bridgestone has a $70 rebate plus Disco Tire can get them locally. TireRack is the only place to get Rivals so I'd have to pay for shipping however BFG has a $50 rebate.

Are you seeing reports on the 1.5 S compared to the RE71 or going by the regular S model which I know the RE71 is better than?
I was hoping to see the 1.5 bridge at lest the majority of the gap between the two tires.

As for sizing the RE71 is a better fit on the 7" wide wheel in 205/45/16 and just 19lbs!

Nope, no reports that I've heard about the 1.5s, just going by (and razzing on) the undying worship of, and loyalty to, the RE71Rs (which IF they made more usable sizes of, along with wider actual tread widths, I would probably join into with). [wink]

The Rival Ses may just be as great as, or even the better of the B-stones at this point, and yes, IF any of these manufacturers stopped REFUSING to give us a 16x8, those 215/45-16 Ses/1.5 Ses would be one of the tires I would put on them (along with some 225/45-16s as a choice as well- HEAVENS NO!! LOL), myself not giving a S**T about running in SCCA H/S.

Keep in mind that the 1.5 version was made to address the shortcomings of the old version relative to the Re71. I'd agree that it even better now.
