It's not hard to install, I just recommend having an extra hand. Having an extra hand to hold things into place while I threaded bolts in prevented me from having to cut anything, which I wanted to avoid at all costs. If I was installing by myself, some plastic trimming behind the bumper would have simplified things greatly. But it wasn't hard to install at all.

I did it with help, but we weren't clever enough to do it your way. In came the cutting tool!

I had a friend help and take some pictures, and I would absolutely advise having an extra set of hands around. Makes things easier especially when it comes to removing the bumper and mounting the new intercooler.

Some notes:
  • I ended up shearing off the middle lower intercooler mount. This is the one that people have fitment issues with, and with two mounts on either side plus several bolts in the bumper, I do not feel that it was critical to the intercooler's stability.
  • Keep track of what bolts and screws go where. There's a ton of them, and only a couple different sizes. Some have washers, some don't, etc.
  • The plastic pieces below the front bumper will fall off, so pay attention to how everything fits together. It's not complicated, but will save you time.
  • The charge pipes are pretty difficult to get off of the stock intercooler. Getting them on the new one is easy, just make sure the clamps are tight.
  • I removed the black plastic lower grille while I had my bumper off. Reveals more of the intercooler and still leaves the vertical bars to protect against debris.
  • I printed out this guide to help my friend and I keep track of what we were doing. Crossed off items as we went.

Overall the install took about 2 hours. Having the right tools and a gameplan made it pretty easy. Hit just shy of 22lbs of boost on Stage 2, loving it!

Metal flakes or styrofoam? Mine had a bunch of little styrofoam pieces on and around it from the shipoing when I unwrapped it, but I just brushed it off.

Thanks but I dont have any questions someone just forgot to blow/wash it out im happy with my purchase and just posted to warn others to take a peek inside before installing could happen to any intercooler[smoking]

My MTC went on without much drama. Did it solo had to trim down the middle plastic tab. Seeing 20lbs of boost on stg 2 ots.

I have the mtc intercooler and on the highway charge temps are usually 4 to 5 degrees higher than ambient. And when it gets really hot due to traffic it quickly comes down with a quick wot pass. Very good value imho

I'm going to guarantee you right now it's the same exact unit as the MTC. It's a dead ringer. That looks spot on identical.

The only difference here is that the Depo cooler is a bit cheaper with free shipping.
Once I get my money back from 2j I will be buying this one as it's going to cost me 200$+ in loses for being charged the restocking fee and paying shipping twice! :-| So the Depo racing looks like it will perform and fit well u reckon?

I have no regrets about my purchase. It performs well and works well. Install was a little painful and you MAY have to cut/trim the plastic splash guard that sits right under the intercooler itself as it is very tall.
