Burning Smell

Hello, hoping this isn’t anything to worry about!

I have had a ‘hot metallic’ burning smell through the vents when I accelerate heavily, usually when I’m joining a motorway so from 30-70mph.
I have changed the rocker gasket as it was leaking, checked for any other fluid loss and inspected the car on a ramp and all is good underneath.

is this just the turbo/exhaust getting hot and burning off any debris? I don’t often push the car so it doesn’t get to see high revs very often.

Anyone else had this?

This can be normal for electric heating coils that are getting their seasonal first time use. But our cars do not have electric heat and most automotive heat systems do not restrict flow to the heater core when the heat is off.

Interesting... our cars may come equipped with an electric boost heater...

Aftermarket parts? Check exhaust hangers and heat shielding.
