Badge overlay install

So I finally got my overlays from dmb (going with classic yellow-black batman logo with my tux black). Is a heat gun really needed? I don't have one and don't think it's worth paying for one for a single application. I thought my mom had on in her scrapbooking stuff but no go.

How about a hair dryer? I've heard of others using that as an alternative.

you can even warm it up just by laying it in the sun... just make sure the underground is clean and you dont touch the adhesive side , after aplication gently push the sides of the badge so it really sticks good

Hairdryer will work fine. I just put mine in the sun (without removinf the backing paper).

Heat isn't required..just make sure the area is cleaned really good. You can even use compress air to make sure to lint is stuck on the badge before applying.

Just put my overlays on the car about 30 mins ago. I cleaned the OEM "Ford" badges with glass cleaner, allowed them to dry and then went over both very thoroughly with a rubbing alcohol soaked cotton swab, allowed that to try and then heated both the OEM "Ford" badge and the back of the overlay before applying it. That thing stuck AWESOME! For the record, I also cleaned my hands very thoroughly with the rubbing alcohol (to remove skin oils) prior to removing the overlay from its backing.

As you wish Sorry, with the sun, it makes it a bit hard to differentiate the colors. But I'm very pleased! BTW, you'll also see the clear bra outline on the 1st pic. Hope this helps????

I checked mine this afternoon, the front one seem'd fine, the rear popped up on the right side, I must of done it wrong, so I will try using a heat gun next time. thats what extra sets are for!

Where did you guys get your overlays at?

Most of us got them from a business in the UK. However, due to Ford's copyrights, they had to stop making them. There was also a guy on the F150 Forum named "Moody Blue" who would make them. He also had to stop due to the same reason. I'm unsure where they can be purchased at now :-(
