That being said, I still would have bought it on the spot IF I had the coin (and then some, in other words WEALTHY!) on hand, even though I HATE moonroofs, and then I would have modded the ever-living crap out of it (BUILT 2.3, to 550+ AWHP, and lightened it by ~500+ lbs.!). [:)]
Someone will probably chastise me for even bringing this up, but an un-built 2.3L engine would pop at that power level (I think 400WHP was where most tuners were putting the limit of the stock internals). There were several engines that were popping at stock levels... Again, someone will probably swoop in and say what a small percentage of engines it was, struck by lightning, blah blah blah. All I can say is that it was enough to prevent people from modding their cars for fear of voiding their warranty and being left having to foot the bill for a new engine, and there were more people adding their names to the "list" every week.

This is interesting to me, and while I haven't drove a FoRS yet (sat in a few), I've been toying with the idea of buying a used one recently. My 15 FiST will be paid off in a few months, and I feel if I don't sell soon the depreciation will really hit. It's either sell this summer, or keep it forever.

Not really sure what to do, but I almost can't believe you weren't impressed enough by the FoRS to go back to the FiST. I guess the FiST really is just THAT good..
Don't get me wrong.... I liked the FoRS. By any objective performance measure it would crush the FiST. By most subjective measures it would probably "win" (looks, comfort, etc.). For whatever reason I just didn't have that much more fun driving it than I did the FiST, and with both cars I had over $1,000/month going out the door in car payments and insurance. The FiST is fun and cheap. So much so that I chose to keep it over the AWD track machine I waited two years for.

The RS is a totally different animal than the FIST....obviously. It comes down to a value proposition. I think both offer great value. The FIST is the cheapest to operate and purchase, so it does have its advantages no doubt. For me, I wanted the FIST to replace an old car that has seen better days. The Fiesta is in a class by itself, in my opinion.

Well, my RS just got a lil brother! Ill have to take a photo of both cars together, when the the RS isn't covered up......(to the right of the FIST).....car is a used 2016 with 10,000....previously owned for 7 months.
NICE!!! [thumb]

'Salt n' Pepper' [:)]

Now get yourself a GT350R, and you'll have everything covered! [driving] ;)

Awesome dude! I totaled my '14 FiST in Feb and just picked up a '16 FiST!

And believe me, I WANTED to try a different car, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING measured up.

Base cost, maintenance cost, insurance cost, fuel economy, tunability, the Fiesta ST is the shit.

FWIW, AWD kinda ruins the fun. Sure, they launch great, but after that they bore me. I'll take FWD throttle-lift oversteer any day.

Timely subject for me......I love my RS and will be keeping it, but I regret getting rid of my 2014 FIST, so i am patiently searching for a good deal on a used FIST.....the cars are different enough that I would enjoy both....if anyone has leads on a good deal for a used one around $15,000 let me know!!!!!
If I had the finances to own both at this point I would have too! But for the price points I really can imagine paying that much more for the RS. I really wanted the RS and waited for it but just couldn't pull the trigger. Very happy with my little FiST!

Make sense to me. I am a Big fan of cheap and fun, haha. I wish I knew you before the FoRS was gone, so I could make my own conclusion about it. I'd go to a dealership and test drive one, but I know I wouldn't buy it. Ideally I'd wait a few more months until I own my FiST, and honestly I'd prefer a used FoRS in the 30K range, which will probably take a while to get too. Cheapest used one I could find was for 36,900 a few days ago.

I just closed on my house in February in Allentown, came from the Boyertown area. Welcome to the Lehigh Valley!

If I weren't being so budget conscious I would trade the Fiesta for an RS tomorrow, but cost of ownership really has me loving this little car

Saves me about $200 a month in gas and insurance when compared to my Evo
