how are you using the stock BPV with the Garrett turbo?

If I am just reading that wrong then what BOV are you using? Could be a by-product of the spring you are using in the BOV.

My question too, given the stock BPV is on the stock turbo.

Pictures of the setup, stock BPV is mounted on a modified(connectors welded on) Forge BOV.
The disconnected pipe in the pictures is then connected to the pipe from ATP kit.

My stock BPV makes that noise (through open element filter) at very low throttle inputs.

That's quite a nifty bit of engineering there.

You mean Turkey mode?

I am by far no expert in turbos by any means, but isn't that merely the air not venting to athmosphere? I thought that noise was when the air is pressed back into the system a little bit causing the sound.
Some people say "TSU-TSU-TSU". Some people say "bark". Some people also say "Gobble" or "Turkey mode".

When you have a BOV that is set to vent then you get the "PSSHHH!" sound instead. I know that there are some BOVs that are mechanical and you can manually set them at a percentage of how much they vent.

Seeing as you have an upgraded turbo (This is a garret right?) then this is merely the byproduct of you having a nice and beefy turbo compared to our stock little "bagel bite" sized snail that a stock ST has.

If I am wrong, then by all means tell me. But from what I heard in the video and from what you are asking, I assume that this is the case.

EDIT: The reason you can't hear it on the stock turbo is because it's tiny and the stock BOV thing vents enough that you can barely hear a small PSHH instead of the bark.

The reason I call it Turkey mode is that if you have a big enough turbo and enough boost, it seriously sounds like a turkey gobble.

Oh so you are using stock BPV but with a forge VTA. 100% normal sounds at that load (not much load) The valve is barely opening at that point and the sound you are getting is from that.

Compressor surge is a different sound altogether.

Thanks for clearing this up , yes turkey gobble is a better name for it, and yes i was first thinking that this might be a compressor surge sound.
So the stock turbo is to small to make the Turkey sound.
With the new turbo can not hear the PSSSSHH sound from the cabin(except in the video, where we tested with a disconnected hose, so it was like a BOV)
I could hear the PSSHHH sound pretty well with stock turbo and upgraded CAI .

I also got a tips from pumaspeed to drill a bit bigger hole in the forge adapter to flow more air.
