Any thoughts on the best coilover in this range for daily driving? I'm at 82k so with all the extra bits added perhaps it makes more sense for a full coil. I get to drive twisty new England roads but the pavement is garbage and I have an infant so I can't worsen the ride- hence diving down the B6 rabbit hole!
Even more so if you drive that car right through the new England winters which will quickly destroy most of the cheaper (especially the steel bodied ones) coil overs out there with the salt soup on the roads for 5 months of the year.
There are VERY few (affordable) coil over setups sold for this ride which even allow you to get anywhere near factory ride height, which is what you want for your bombed-out roads.
The Swift Spec R/Bilstein B6 setup will not lower the car all that much (usually less {even only 0.5" most of the time} than the advertised by Swift 1.0" all around), so the car will still not be as 'slammed' as most of (not all) the cheapo coil over setups at their highest height adjustment.
Despite the cost of the above setup being almost/approaching the same (depending on where you purchase all of the parts) as the cheaper/cheapest coil overs, I am going this route as soon as I get the brakes and slave cylinder settled on my car.
I have decided that it is just not worth it for me to go to that type of suspension unless I could (do it correctly with) the full-on, co$t$ more than half of what the car is worth, ~$9K Reiger R2, 3 way adjustable, remote reservoir, tarmac setup (like exactly ONE member on here, from GB, has done, albeit with a much less prohibitive rebuilt/revalved used set).
