I'm going to try to make my own two or three gauge cluster that will sit in the fwd l/h corner of the dash area. I'm going to go with a hybrid turbo and the stock dummy lights won't cut it. What parameters are most important to monitor and please list them in the order of importance.

I have a Accessport, but don't want to leave it in the car so that's why I'm looking at stand alone gauges. Off of the top of my head, probably boost, water temp and oil pressure? TIA.

Why not? I disconnect mine and put it in the glovebox when I leave the car for long because I think people that break into cars are likely way too stupid to realize it is worthless to anyone but me, but the 6 selectable gauges are very useful. You are going to do a lot of work for something you already have and I am curious as to why.

Because the glove box is not a secure container, so I assume everything in the car will be taken in the event of a break in.

1. Boost
2. Oil Pressure
3. Wideband AFR or EGT

If you are buying gauges for engine monitoring purposes (rather than bling) it is important that you remember that you get what you pay for. I come from JDM land so the big "quality" names are Autometer, VDO, Defi, and those made by aftermarket tuning companies like AEM, GReddy, Blitz, and Apex'i. There may be others but there are also companies that are known crap, such as GlowShift, who sell on eBay exclusively for a reason. Fun industry secret: ProSport are just rebadged GlowShift. If you crack open a ProSport gauge and a Glowshift gauge you will not be able to tell the difference.
