I am NOT saying that the Versus is non-functional. [nono]
I am NOT an aerodynamicist, but I seriously doubt anyone else on here is either.
IF they are, I HOPE they will jump in and give their assessment of the Versus, and any other diffusers (or splitters/wings/skirts/etc., etc.) out there. [:)]

Merely asking if Woods had questioned that company above about a diffuser, since they seem to be (but yeah, I could be very wrong about this) all about real aero function over all form, and he has dealt with them before.

We all get defensive about products we have on our cars which others question, I get it (many question the CP-E exhaust, and their IC I have waiting to be installed, and the 'boat anchor' 17x8 Pro race 1.2s, I own).

But until Versus shows me actual wind tunnel tests confirming their (yes modest) aero claims, I have to believe that it is mostly for aesthetics.
(And yeah, I know that even a day in a tunnel co$t$ more than they probably make in profits in a whole quarter or more. [wink])
I would hazard a guess to say that anything that would be developed elsewhere would be very similar in design. There is only so much you can do with that space.

No company is going to do this - none. It's too cost prohibitive. Computer modelling is completely sufficient. You have to use common sense and knowledge of the Time Attack cars as they get ridiculous with their aero as the rest of the car is sooooo consistent. Driver included. Small aero tweaks actually put time on the clock or take it off - from what I have seen, what the Versus Diffuser does is what you want any rear diffuser to do. Cover from the rear axle backwards, protrude past the rear bumper cover (so the air transition to open air is clean) along with adding some air stabilizing fins. Unless you're cutting in to the bumper to increase the height of the opening (and therefore making it a low pressure zone to suck air out from the underside) there isn't anything more that I can see to be done.

If there is, please, someone identify what the area of concern is and perhaps we can focus our conversation on that. At this point, I have yet to hear WHY it doesn't perform the task.

What is the mounting like? Just riveted to the bumper? Any backing plates?
It’s bolted on. I bought them to diffuse the air at the front wheel to pull heat out when I had stock brake issues. They’re probably slowing me down now lol.

I take it they would not make up a diffuser for you to be the guinea pig to try it out, with a possible run for the whole community if functional??
I never asked them. I find most US aftermarket companies have no interest in supporting the Fiesta ST any longer. The track market is too small. It might grow as the cars become less expensive but for now we have to do things ourselves or tweak stuff from the UK. Fortunately the UK/Euro stuff is easy to get. The Verus one looks really good from a design perspective. It might be the best option in the US for an off-the-shelf rear diffuser.

I have a high-end aero company locally. If I showed up with a purchase order for 20 wings, 20 chassis mounted splitters and 20 diffusers, I’m certain he’d design and build them. It’s not worth his (nor my) time to build 4. We are working on ABS fender flares, however. We need them, so I’m investing in the R&D with my own cash and time. They’ll look similar to the M2 set but mount to the car using panel adhesive instead of rivnuts and bolts. That’s the look I prefer, so that’s why they’re being made like that. Covid slowed that project down a bit unfortunately but it’s not forgotten.

AGREED! [thumb]
There probably is not much that can be done for our cars, and still be streetable at all, past what the Versus does.

Does Versus show any computer models anywhere for this diffuser?
(Asking for knowledge's sake, NOT to be snide, snarky, or confrontational!! [:)] )

You're too diplomatic to be taken offensively!!

I think they just show the 'modelling' on the page specific to the Fiesta product...

I still have to bond the element to its mounts. That’s a project for tomorrow.. It took several more hours to complete the internal braces and seal everything up today. I’ll have better pics soon. I thought it was sort of odd that the top of the mounts float above the glass but it’s definitely NOT going anywhere. After I installed the braces it is incredibly stiff.

I really like the body line that the base spoiler has with the Aero installed.
I agree. It would look odd with the ST wing. Base wings are cheap on the used market too. Check it out without the aero. It still looks good:
