Wiring RCA cables to Sony unit

Hey I am trying to install a subwoofer to my 2015 fiesta st but my only concern is wiring the RCA cables in, i have read up that I need to wire into the rear speaker wiring but would I be able to take one end up the RCA cable and cut the conntector off and just splice into the positive and negative straight on one side or do I need converters and splice into both side speakers.

I used a PAC line level convertor mounted above the glove box and connected to the rear rear speaker outputs at he radio head and ran my RCA cables back to the powered underfloor sub unit (I used a Blaupunkt like his one.. https://www.amazon.com/BLAUPUNKT-GT...rds=blaupunkt+subwoofer&qid=1602520381&sr=8-3) It works fantastic and you cant beat the price!
