all you can try is to bleed the brakes some more and see if it comes back you should not loose pedal because of that kind of swap. I did the same thing and didn't feel any worse for the swap but I did vac (at the caliper) bleed my brakes two or three times to clear all old fluid and get the hi temp stuff in..

I think I got it figured out. Took a chance and tried it with the ignition on did one firm pedal push then cracked the bleeder. I got ATE super blue in it so this time i was crackin it instead of my buddy to make sure it was all blue coming out. Strangely every couple of times I did it I would hear what sounded like air being released under the car somewhere. IDK if the abs module has a valve or something that releases pressure, even the instructor wasnt sure. Well got it all together and drove it around the block a few times and it feels much tighter now. Ill put some heat to them tomorrow and see whats up.

sorry for the old bump....

what if you are still having a soft brake pedal? I just swapped my brakes last night for hawk pads, stoptech rotors and ss lines. I figured last night it was just a bit to cold and the pads hadnt heated up yet but today coming home they should have been definitely warmed up by the time I hit the back road to test them a little bit. An needless to say it wasn't the most confidence inspiring drive I also had the ESC off.

Bleeding should be done with car off. With car off, pedal should feel firm as a brick after you have completed bleeding. When you start the car, and go to press the pedal all the way down, it is going to move a little bit. It will feel like it has a tiny bit of air in the line, but it doesn't.

it seemed to work fine with the car on, it probably doesnt make a difference. Maybe I just had to do it again, I took a few suggests from this thread.

Same thing happened to me today on the track. Only changed ss brake line and fluid, rest were stock. The stock pads were eaten away, my left caliper was on fire, and almost hit the wall...
