Walked past mine and got in the other car to drive to the VW dealer and test drove a GTI Autobahn in preparation for shopping the Golf-R coming next year.
All I can say is WOW and it wasn't even the fastest GTI as the PP option isnt out yet ...
Tell me more about this GTI....

It was Red and like I said had the Autobahn pkg meaning red stitching on the seats and steering wheel it also had the DSG Trans and a few other doo dads I would look on the vw site to be sure .. But the car was a blast to drive in town it was a very mellow easy going drive and on the hwy it road smooth than my FiST or the Fit we are replacing. Now it is winter here already so we have the wonder frost heaves in the roads and minor pothole that make the ST seems to hop like a bunny and the GTI did not tranfer them to the driver nice ride. Then there is sport mode which tightens up the engine response and hold the gear a little longer (note this car did NOT have the DCC witch changes the ride quality with magnetic shocks) but anyway WOW the car just flew until it encountered a bit of snow covered road then I had to find the ESC off button and try again.. In a nut shell if you want a bigger car awith more than enough zip and a very nice interior and quiet ride great stereo and good looks this is a car to consider though it stickers for over 30K as tested it is just so refined you cant help but enjoy it... (oh and with a tune they are getting near 300 hp out of the GTI)

Thanks Rod...im highly considering either trading my ST for one now or waiting till i pay it off. I always loved those a GTIs.

Protune at Cobb SoCal (11/21/2014)

Visited Cobb SoCal yesterday and had the FiST ProTuned by Jon Hebbeln...

Cobb also performed a comprehensive "pre" dyno tune boost leak check... Very pleased with the final results and this is probably as good as it gets with the FiST's stock turbo and using good ol' CA 91 oct...

Also Mustang was recently out at Cobb a few weeks ago to do some updates, repairs, and recalibrations on their dyno so I'm fairly comfortable with the results although we all know that absolute numbers captured will vary from dyno to dyno but they still are great for tuning....

Cobb ProTune with 5-way custom maps switching
Slot #1 - 24psi
Slot #2 - 19psi
Slot #3 - ECO
Slot #4 - Cobb stg3 91 OTS
Slot #5 - Valet

Nice! How much did it cost and how much time did it take?
If you purchase and have Cobb install much of the bolt-ons for you then the dyno protune is less than half price ... Lets just say it didn't cost me much more than what some folks are currently paying for street tunes....They also do a pre-dyno evaluation which involves a comprehensive boost leak system check...

hey thx!...I'm very pleased considering its on SoCal 91 pump gas and still has the stock turbo....

We know what comes next now! ;)
Did you get any numbers before the pro tune with your mods?

EDIT: just read your journal, nice gains with pro vs. the OTS.

Installed my Piercemotorsports 2 point strut brace today. also drained my mishimoto oil catch can after 1430 miles.



Clear wire reinforced hose connected to the intake shows no presence of oil film.



Next up front splitter, 6 point lower brace, short shift lever, shifter base washers, and custom dead pedal. Pics to follow.

Glad you get to have so much fun today:)

I just weighed my car, I will post pics of the scales on my build thread.
I am not done adding some weight back in like a bit bigger than the tiny battery, small washer bottle, quick release low weight audio system and completing sound deadening, catch can, oil cooler, LSD, splitter and undertray, dead pedal, modded shifter, sub frame brace.

2568 lbs with 5/8 tank of gas, pretty low for the mods that are included, full list on the first page of my thread.

Did you tweak the ends of the tubing as I recommended?

It is a free, easy and very effective mod and done right can help with better flow:)

I did it at around 90 and it made a big bang as something hit, vibrated, I dumped the clutch and jumped on the brakes and hoped for the best, it was just a blown off hose, whew!

Put down 201WHP and 254WTQ today, not real happy for 2 reasons, one of which is completely my fault.

I was running NGK 1-step colder plugs for the last few months but realized that the NGK's did not have the extended electrode like the OE plugs brought to light by Sekred!, which really did not work too well..

Yesterday I went to the dealer yesterday to get brand new OE spark plugs, measured the gap, put them on, called it a night. Today, on the dyno, the motor was pulling timing like crazy in all 4 cylinders (-4 on Cyl.3) and the car was not happy at all, I pulled the plugs then realized they were OE plugs for the N/A Fiestas (SP-525) that also did not have the extended electrode and they were 1 heat range hotter then Fiesta ST OE plugs. The OE plugs for the Fiesta ST are SP-532.

Also the shop did not have a decent fan to go in front of the car to simulate airflow, it was a pathetic tiny fan. Anyways that's my rant, wrong spark plugs + very little airflow = today's results!
