Using motul dot 5.1 in clutch?

After reading extensively on the whole clutch to the floor issues it got me wondering if it is heat related. Being that the slave is inside the transmission it probably heats up. I personally fixed my sticky clutch by removing the helper spring under the dash, but I have noticed the travel gets less if I go on long highway drives without shifting for hours. And sometimes when it's humid out it's just feels different. Can you use any brake fluid dot 4 or 5.1 in the clutch? What if I used rbf660?

The engineers on here can step in an correct me if I am incorrect on this, but yes, you can use any DOT 4, 5.1, DOT 4 LV, or multi-spec brake fluid in the clutch hydraulics.

IF it was not such an extra bother (and added expense for me), for those few I have found willing to flush the brake/clutch systems in my area (as I am not allowed to do this myself where I live) I would have gone for the higher wet/dry boiling points but still long lived, Ate Typ 200 in my clutch (for precisely the reasons you give above [thumb]), and then the lower wet/dry points (LV) Bosch multi-spec fluid in the brake system to ensure the retention of the ABS/nannies if I ever want those activated.

There is a belief that the problem with the slave cylinder is heat related, but the theory is that the heat is coming from the throwout bearing, which is right next to the slave cylinder. The slave's parts are plastic.
