I know it sucks, but... Its the best I can do without wifi...

20psi at 6200rpms +\-
20psi or more from 3300rpms to 6200rpms
Peak boost is 25.39psi
22psi or more from 3577rpms to 5568rpms

No ign corrections, highest timing was 15.5.
I'm obviously still a noob, but can someone please remind me of the stock turbo psi (tuned and/or not) at those rpms? Was it something like 18psi max at 4.5k? Trailing down to 14 at 6k?

Thanks in advance.

So exciting! (And I don't even have a FiST yet :p)

Stock turbo in 3rd gear not blowing hot air is approx:

5k = 20psi
5.5k = 17psi
6k = 15.5psi
6.5k = 14.5psi

PSI isn't everything, if you go beyond the compressor map it just makes hot air and doesn't really add power. That's why torque curves are a better indicator of the psi/power delta.

Thanks razor :) (btw LOVE your build thread on the ".org" forum)

Speaking of torque curves, I would LOVE to see some overlays between stock, stock-tuned, and this modified turbo. (Frankenturbo is a good description, but that's also a brand in its own right. SS, you need to come up with a cool name for this. Since the new wheel is 51mm, maybe something with "51" in the name)

EDITED!

120 miles on the car today, it runs incredibly well, rides great on the BC race version coilovers, handling is amazing, brakes stop on a dime......

55 miles to the city, 800 ft drop, not much incline, speed ranged from 55 to 70 MPH which I drive the speed limit or 5 over most of the time and have dirt cheap insurance with State Farm to protect, I play around here and there but not that often, I keep the 9.9 10ths for the track. Drove around SLC, some traffic, stop and go, stopped for a great Sushi lunch with my sweet wife, groceries, etc.....a few places, then up Parleys Summit to Park City, then the back route on 80 to the 84 to Morgan.

Just under 500 miles on the car now, average MPG was 31.4, not bad for mixed driving, climbing a mountain pass, living at 5200 ft, not tuned fully or broken in....

I have another 500 miles to put on to break it in before tuning so taking it easy.

I am not running it hard but get on it bit here and there but keep the revs down and not full throttle, it had plenty of power in 6th gear, AC on, climbing up the pass, did not even need to down shift to go around a few trucks.

Though I barely drove the car on the stock turbo the modded one, not even tuned, is so much better, a real nice wide powerband which is exactly what I wanted:):):)

If this makes the power I want up top and drives like it does now I will be incredibly pleased and can go have fun instead of building parts to fit an EFR and I think that is going to happen, asap!

Note:

I need help right away, my Mountune AP will not let me setup gauges, all 6 show the same gauge, I cannot even get to the screen to change them.

I could go and set what to data log but I do not think it was doing that even, I had to pay attention to my driving so could not mess with it much but I spend several sessions trying to sort it out before the trip.

I will finish breaking the car in and need this thing to work in the next 2-3 days, I have things scheduled I must get to with a tune!

What is the best approach, call Cobb directly, talk to Randy, etc.....?

Thanks:)
Rick

The Mountune AP is not 100% the same as Cobb's AP3, it's basically the AP3 minus some features. If Randy is doing your tuning then Randy is who you need to call, and he'll be able to tell you what parameters he needs logged anyways-on top of how to set it up.

You should be able to just highlight the gauge you want to change, click the circle button, then the first option is to change the monitor (iirc). Rinse and repeat.

Thanks, I wish I could highlight the gauges but they do not even show up as an option to see them:(

I did not know it was not the same as the regular AP, I will have to find out what is different and if it meets my needs, I might have to get it working and sell it if not....I have to have a working unit asap

I have a tuned lined up through the Cyborg route I am now on, I bought the MT AP on a sale and a free tune but that was before the modded turbo project so not sure what he will do, Randy is a great guy of course, I will call him see what we can work out.

Thanks:)
Rick

The screen that you change the gauges on is the screen that shows them.

When you see all the gauges, click the lower button (down arrow) until one is highlighted in blue-then click the circle.

That should give you the option to change monitor, reset minimums on all gauges, or reset minimums on the one gauge.

Once you select change monitor, it will give you the list of viewable selections.

If you up-arrow (upper button) on the gauge screen, it should take you to the options for configuring data-logging.

As for the differences between the two different units, I'm not 100% on what they are-I just know that there are some things not available on the Mountune unit versus the regular AP3.

Yes Rick has the COBB AP purchased thru Mountune with his bespoke included tune services so it is a COBB AP contact Randy at Mountune or Ian at COBB

Never

I guess I will take a look at that but about to fall out of my chair, been a very long day today.....

I was all over the Cobb site earlier today and did not see anything mentioned about an update but I guess I was not looking in the right place.

I just did the firmware update, I still only have Est VE no matter how many gauges I setup, 1, 2, 3....6, all are the same and no option to change them, I guess I have a broken AP:(

I am sure it will get taken care of but I sure wish I did this sooner!

SOunds like you will need to contact COBB. Make out a ticket and they will get back to you ASAP they replaced my OBD2 cable in a day or two after the retaining clips broke and I happened to mention it to them that I was using Purple Race tape to hold it in place at the moment..
