Upgrade to the Garage. Father's Day Present to myself!

No upgrade to the Fiesta, but a definite upgrade to the garage to make things easier for modding going forward:

I replaced this scissor lift I used in my old garage:

I had to build ramps so my Corvette would drive over it and it really obstructed the middle of the car. I had no other choice, though with the low ceiling height of the old garage:

When you add up everything you get and how versatile it is, it's really a pretty reasonable price. The problem is you have to have the space for it. After living with my scissor lift for several years, I built my new garage 40x30' and 12' walls so I would have enough ceiling height for either a 2 or 4 post lift. I'm too old now to lay on my back to work on cars. I saved for a while to finally get my dream workshop and I even heated and air conditioned it.

It's nice. Does it have a way to lift the wheels off the ramps though. My dad has a two post lift in his garage which is nice because you can pull the wheels off that way. That was nice to have when I was living at home. I still use it when I do make my way home. Makes oil changes and tire rotations a breeze.

Yeah, if you check out the link I posted a few up, you'll see I got the combo that includes 2 hydraulic jacks that span the open space between the ramps. With them I can lift the vehicle off of the ramps to do suspension work, etc. I debated between a 2 and 4 post lift for awhile and finally decided on the 4 post for my fist lif. While each ave their pros and cons, for me the 4 post won out for the ease of lifting, the ability to store a car above another and the ability to move it around with the supplied casters. I would like to get a 2 post in the future as I have room for another lift, and if this one doesn't do all I need, I may make the move.

I had a 2 post and once you have a lift makes you wonder how you ever got by without it, 64 now, RVing, did a bunch of work on the ST lately on the floor and it SUCKS, takes 3 times longer at least....

I planned to get at least one 4 post to go in the other end of the shop as well as they both do certainly have pluses and minuses and I planned to get an alignment rack for the 4 post, doing a full race level alignment on the Silver C6 we had was a tough chore on the ground, first time took 8 hours to dial it all in including aligning the crossmembers.

Great planning on the shop, 12" side walls, AC, heat, very smart
