Upgrade confusion - HELP!!

Right, I'm confused...

I have a 14 ST and the only performance upgrade I currently have is the Mountune MP215. So, air box, air filter, air feed hose and a revised engine calibration all come as part of the MP215.

I want more power.

If I purchased a Cobb AP or got an ECU re-map elsewhere, would this affect the MP215 upgrade?

I get so confused when it comes to adding other performance upgrades now I have the MP215.

Also, does anyone have a Cobb AP with the MP215? What kind of BHP gains can I expect with the Cobb AP? Can anyone reccomend any other/better ECU re-maps?

Excuse my ignorance!!

It's a forum, so you're supposed to ask questions! I believe most of us on this forum are in the US, so please keep that in mind as your tuning options may be different. I too have the MP215 kit. If you're thinking of going with Cobb, then you might as well return your car to stock, sell the MP215 kit, and then start over with Cobb. I doubt that you'll get any appreciable difference by over-writing your MP215 tune with a Cobb tune, but with a Cobb tune you can then go to Stage 2 and Stage 3 as you add parts, which you can't do with the MP215. (Well, you could go MR230, but that's a different route).

So, long story short, stick with MP215. That's what I thought but wanted to get some clarification. MR230? Is that official? Haven't heard anything from Mountune about this?

How are you enjoying the MP215? What other upgrades are you running if any?

Only downside is you will lose the warrenty of the MP215 kit and if i recall the COBB AP is not set to work with the MAF tuned rest of world cars yet and I have not heard they will be anytime soon if at all. So you are limited to what places like PERON and Puma (to name a few) companies have to offer.. that about all the help I can be at the moment sorry..

Yeah I get all this. I'll be sticking with Mountune, patiently waiting for new upgrades...just wanted more clarification around the topic really.

I have the MP215 kit with Mountune FMIC and charge pipes. It's a nice increase over stock. With Mountune having released their downpipe, and Randy saying that the cat back exhaust is weeks away, the MR kit has to be coming soon. In the US, the MR kit and downpipe are not warranty-friendly. Not sure if they will be in the UK, though.

Cant find a Mountune downpipe for the Fiesta on the UK website...? Been waiting on this cat-back for so so long, I hope it is released soon and it better be worth the wait!

MR kits will automatically void warranty, any MR kit will, only MP kits are warranty friendly. Not sure about warranty on the downpipe as didnt even know it existed!

MR230 details are out on Mountune FB page, seems like the way to go if you already have the MP215 kit

CARS AND COFFEE - NEW UPGRADE
Revealed exclusively at the Cars and Coffee event today in Essex is the mountune MR230 upgrade for the mk7 Fiesta ST.
As the name suggests, the MR230 upgrade kit delivers a performance uplift to 230PS at 5500rpm with 340Nm of torque available from 3000rpm.
As with almost all MR upgrade kits, the base hardware used in the MP kit is retained, in this instance the induction kit, to enable and easier and less expensive transition to MR level performance.
Joining the induction kit is a high-flow silicone induction hose and charge pipe upgrade kit, an uprated alloy intercooler, high-flow downpipe with 200-cell cat and a twin-tip cat-back exhaust system. All hardware can be added in a modular fashion except the downpipe, which is recommended to be installed together with the MR230 calibration.
The MR230 calibration is supplied using an mTune handheld device ? for customers who are currently running an MP215 installed with an mTune, an in-field downloadable firmware update is available at a greatly reduced cost.
mountune's engineers spent a great deal of time developing this kit to ensure that it delivers the optimum level of performance with the OE turbocharger, whilst maintaining the maximum possible reliability of the engine and transmission components.
To help do this, the MR230 upgrade kit is also supplied with a mountune locking tool to adjust the cam timing. Working with the OE turbocharger compressor map, it was evident early into the development process that simply adding the appropriate hardware wouldn't be sufficient to maximise what was, in reality, a small operating window to extract additional performance.
As part of the upgrade, the cam timing has been optimised and to ensure a quicker, more accurate method of timing them accordingly, a bespoke tool is included for the installing technician.
The altered cam timing provides a definite improvement in power and also helps hold on to the torque higher up in the rev range.
The end result is the docile, OE-like day-to-day driving experience you've come to expect from a mountune calibration, which, at the depression of the throttle, spools into action, delivering a wave of torque that's difficult not to smile at, with an induction and exhaust note that's hard not to enjoy in equal measure!
For customers running the market-leading MP215 upgrade, the MR230 delivers a whole lot more of the same torque-related characteristics, but with a noticeably stronger top-end, and for those with a standard Fiesta ST, the change in performance is understandably, dramatic.
With the kit installed, the 0-60mph time drops to 5.9 seconds, a full 1-second improvement over the standard model In-gear and midrange acceleration is improved upon even more substantially thanks to the 340Nm readily on hand.
As an MR upgrade, your warranty may be affected as it does not benefit from the same exemption that the MP upgrades provide. However, the cat-back exhaust is covered by a limited lifetime warranty and our standard 12-month / 12,000 mile warranty against manufacturing defects is applicable to the remaining hardware.
MR230 from MP215 costs ?1995 inc. VAT
MR230 from a standard Fiesta ST costs ?2295 inc. VAT
Bookings are being taken now at MT HQ with April installation dates

We know any MR upgrade will void warranty. Not fussed about that, I can take out warranty on the vehicle elsewhere. I think the MR230 kit is way too expensive. Nobody seems to be talking about it, gonna start a thread...
