That looks like the correct orientation. The first time I tried it and got it wrong, I was trying to get the raised sections to interface...which was definitely not right. If you don't hear a difference or think it's working properly, then you might need to shine a light into the male connector end to see if you pushed in one or both of the pins like I did. I ended up cutting off the heat shrink and pushing the pin back through from the backside of the connector, because the little grommet was making it difficult to pull forward with a pair of needle nose pliers. I replaced the heat shrink to ensure everything stayed protected...which gave me a good excuse to get a heat gun ;)
Both pins are visible and seem to be in place but I'll get under there again tomorrow and do a more thorough investigation.
Because I'm on a base tune I'm only running 15psig at the moment so it's hard to hear the bov doing anything really. I hear turbo spool/whine and a small flutter on throttle close which I'm not a fan of but that's it.
Thanks for the pointers

sorry for the long response delay, havent been paying attention to forums and stuff.

With the plumb back operating normally, you should hear a little flutter at low boost - but if you are giving it throttle and let off, it should do it's normal whooshing blowoff sound. If it's still fluttering at higher boost levels, you probably don't have it connected correctly. Personally, when it was connected backwards it's just enough "off" that it cracked the plastic connector on the car-side, not the diverter side. The only way to tell is to look at the inside of the connector on the tubosmart, the tabs are closer on one side than the other and line up with the stock one. For some reason, the dual port version had the insert to prevent backwards insertion but the plumb back did not. I was never able to find a part number for a replacement connector on the harness-side, the best I could find was a full replacement harness and dealership labor to do the install and it was something like 1200-1300 bucks all-in. I can afford it, but I don't really want to, so it's all back together with the stock DV and the connector reassembled with UV curing resin.
