:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I mean 300 is just about where I'd want the car to be. I don't really want to deal with going 4port aux, and I don't have any intent for this to become a drag car. 300 on 93 is the goal. But like I said it needs to be able to stand up to the abuse of track days.

If I wanted to go cheap in turbos, I'd go turbobay... But no, I think its worth it to pay more for something like the S280
I originally said what you are saying now....Then talked to a bunch of people bout Hybrids and BT's....I'm happy decided to go with what would allow me to grow! You will want more trust me.....who doesn't?[drinking]

I just dont want to lose the punchy-ness of the car, if i wanted a big turbo straight line car, I'd have bought a Focus ST. One of the things I like about my freinds VT330R car is that it feels stock, with more oomph. My other friends have an MRX kit and a GT2860R, both of those cars feel like doodoo til 4500rpm, boost happens, and then shift.

If you meant gt instead of gtx then yeah the gt2860r and the mrx are turds. A properly setup gtx2860r can hit full boost sub 4000.

BTs also help prolong the life of the drivetrain from the initial shock from all the Torque down low that Hybrids and Stock snails generate. Food for thought....That and your mileage can even go up due to not spooling the Turbo so early on. There is always trade offs on both sides.....I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you go with! Everything is better than stock! [loveboost]

Yeah I don't know anyone with a GTX kit down here. This car is one of DHMs old builds. It also has cams, the car is terrible on the street. Fast, but not til high RPMs.

Literally. I'm glad we have the ability to change them out so easily as well.

Is the S280 considered a hybrid? Or somewhere inbetween a hybrid and BT.

It's not ax hybrid, it is not a stock frame. It's k04 based so I guess you can consider it a big turbo but no turbo put on a fiesta is big lol.

Id say its an in between as it doesn't use the Compressor housing from the stocker/ machine it and throw in a bigger cartridge. Its got a bespoke housing on the compressor side which Is nice. The only gripe I have is its journal bearing not ball bearing. Other than that...I would Roll it!

So it should generate less heat than something like an X47R and VT330R? I only ask this because my friend with the VT had to put meth in his car to maintain temperatures.

Yes it should generate less heat then a hybrid. Alot of people with hybrids tend to run crappy intercoolers that claim to be good for the whp but in reality they dont compensate for the fact that the amount of horsepower is being pushed through a stock frame. Yeah journal bearings are inferior to ball bearings but people here act like its the end of the world. This isnt a Precision 7675, the difference between a journal bearing and ball bearing on a turbo this size in terms of spool and reliability is going to be marginal.

Yeah I don't see the point in running ball bearings in something this size. I have an ATP intercooler at the moment, which barely supported a hybrid turbo on another car before I bought it. Just trying to think what else I'd need along with the kit.

Just get a bravo alpha intercooler and call it a day. If you have access to ethanol consider aux down the line.

Couldn't agree more! If You want a great Ethanol sensor...Fuel-It offers one that is Bluetooth an all you do is download the app and Bam no need for a gauge! just read it live on your Phone!

Was considering aux, but eh. I was happy with e30.

That BA intercooler is GIGANTIC. I'm sure it would be more than enough.

If you have access to ethanol it's a no brainer. I have to drive 20 mins but I fill up cans. If it was near me I would get the drop in pump and run full e85. You will gain 50hp on the s280. I don't think you can run e30 without it, you would run out of fuel quick and probably make less then 93. I got my single port used for 400$.
