Trunk Floor Alternative?

I saw this in an email and kind of like it. What does everyone think? I know this doesn't fit our car but I think it could be made easily.

That's popular on the VAG builds. Looks great but adds weight. If ur build goal isn't performance, go for it. Just cut it to fit.

I did this to my focus with a discounted box of floorboards from homedepot and glued them onto a thin fiberboard. whole thing cost about $25

I added foam tape around the edges after this picture.

I would not do this again. It's quite heavy at 15lbs(maybe 10 for the FiST?) but stuff sliding around in the trunk was the worst part.
