She wanted a 2015 WRX but we went with a used 2013 FoST ST3 that we got a killer deal on. I love the Subaru! Sometimes i miss working on them as much as i use to.

Nice! Can't go wrong with either option. The Subarus are definitely fun, just wish the good ol EJ motors didn't go boom so easily.

These Boomba Wing Risers were very well thought out! Excellent fitment and great instructions provided. I did have a buddy help me out with this install as this one would be difficult solo. Very complete kit and i love the overall look. I have a set of Perrin Wing Risers on my Subaru and this kit from Boomba is MUCH better. If you enjoy the look I say go for it with these. I can't find anything bad to say.

12/30/2014 - Triple R Composites Splitter - Custom Paint Match - 4245 Miles

I have always loved the aesthetics of this splitter and when FSWERKS finally got more in I pulled the trigger. I wanted to do something a bit different and get it paint matched. I haven't seen too many painted ones around. I think the finished product is quite nice. Fitment was great right out of the box, so I can't complain there. Only downfall to this setup is materials used. It's a little nerve-racking driving around knowing if it takes a good blow its probably done for. I'd love to see a good looking urethane lip one day.

- COBB Cat Back Exhaust

Decided to take advantage of the savings COBB was offering and pick up this exhaust. I really don't have enough good things to say about this piece. The materials, welds, fit, finish and overall quality are top notch! I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and that definitely holds true with this setup. I researched all of the other available options and I didn't want to go there with slip joints, bolt on tips, small diameter piping, inferior materials etc etc...

The install should've been super straight forward, but both the nuts on the DP studs were completely seized. We were able to get one of the nuts off, but the other one snapped. After a few headaches we removed both pressed in DP studs and used bolts. Oddly enough COBB included extra hardware to use from the DP to Catback connection. I don't know if this is a known issue, or if the extra hardware was there to be used with their DP. In any case, everything was very easy once the studs were out. Fitment is PERFECT!

The sounds this car makes are now incredible. On the 20 minute test drive I couldn't stop grinning. 2nd gear 3/4 throttle from low RPMs is a complete riot. The tone, snap, crackle and pop all add to the fun. ZERO drone, ZERO annoyingness, all around couldn't be happier. Literally the perfect exhaust for our cars IMO.

The hangers work great and eliminate the majority of the unwanted movement in the exhaust. The stockers are a complete joke and it shouldn't be a question of whether or not to upgrade them.

Next time take a torch and heat the stud and nut and press some wax up against the stud this will suck the wax up around the stud and between the nut and make it come off easier.

Been MIA for the last few months, so I figured I would give this an update. Since the last post I've completed the following:

1/11/2014 - Deadhook Motorsports Sound Symposer Delete - 4564 Miles
1/11/2014 - UK Domed Badge Overlays - 4564 Miles

Not much to show for photos, but the Boomba parts are great and drastically improve the shifter feel. Decently shorter and more precise. Also very simple to install. My buddy did all the same parts and the shifter base bushings. With that said the shifters feel nearly identical, so not sure if the base bushings are worth it.

The DHM SS Delete is another awesome part that's simple but effective. I ended up pulling all of the SS hosing up to the firewall while it was all apart for the shifter pieces install.

Lastly, the gel badge overlays from the UK are SPOT on. Much much better then the previous vinyl ones I was running.

I've also been waiting on wheels from the UK since September of last year. Well they finally came in! Finally! Super stoked to get them mounted tomorrow. Decided to mount the stock RE050s and run those till they're shot. More photos once they're mounted up! Heres' the specs on whats going on:

Annnnndddd finally I will be at COBB Socal next Thursday to have some work done. If any Socal FiST guys are free you should definitely stop by!! This is whats happening:

- COBB Front Mount w/ Hard Pipes
- COBB Catted Downpipe
- AccessPORT Protune

This will put me at COBB's full Stage 3 setup. Currently being at Stage 1, I'm hoping for some nice improvements! Unfortunately as this is my DD I don't have E85 close enough to justify getting extra tunes. It will be tuned on 91 only.

Have you seen it in person? An 8" wheel is within spec according to Bridgestone for that size.

The last thing I want is a lot of stretch. If you have more photos please post them up. A lot of the way a tire stretches is dependent on brand as even though the size is the "same" widths can vary quite a bit.

Heres a photo of Roosey's car with the OEM Potenzas on a 17x8. Doesn't look too bad to me.

I guess the potenzas run a little wider. My previous car was a 2009 Focus that was very low and I ran 205/40/17's on a 17x8 wheel. They stretched nicely and fitmet was great. I don't plan to go the same route with this car, however.

The stretch in that pic isn't too bad. I'd probably run at least a 215/40 personally.

Thanks for the input. Ill try and dig up some more photos, or maybe do a test mount on one of them to see how it looks. The car is only on Eibachs, so excessive stretch will be goofy as hell.
