Going to remove the lower grille of my white platinum fist tonight. Was debating painting the piece between the fog lights either matte black or red. I have the motegi 116s in black and red btw. Will also have a black splitter in the coming days. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Mine in the middle. Red plastidip, or whatever rustoleum's brand is...

Haha, I don't care. I stole the idea from someone else. I may have it done in vinyl wrap when I pull the bumper for the intercooler. I have been tossing the idea around to test out the black look.

Black is gonna look like broken ass bumper for anyone that sees from distance imo. That red looks bad imo also but that's just me.

I would leave it alone. No offense to anyone who does this but the Plastidip fad is way out of hand and you can tell who JUST got a hold of it for the first time by looking at their car. It looks like shit.

I did mine a few months ago and love it. My car is black and I've done a number of grey accents to match the wheels. One of them is the area in question. It's subtle but looks awesome especially with my lip under it, though it's not pictured below.

Go for it! Just don't do a poor job with the PD. I agree with the fellow above, I've seen so many cars with PD on them that look awful. Take your time and make it look right.

Mine is peeling and fraying on the edges. Looks like crap currently. I only like it because white is too boring for me. I traded in a yellow focus, so it needed some "pop".

Good job on that gray though. Subtle touch.

Thanks. I've done a good bit of plasty dip and painting over the years. I'm very meticulous to make sure it sticks and looks good. I usually put several layers of plasty dip on and then paint over it the color I want. That way if I ever want to remove it I can just peel it off. There is an art to it though, but if it's done right it will last for years.

imo, doing these things require a full vision for the car.
If you're going to put red on one spot, then you need more red in other areas to balance it.
Examples of other areas that could be red: red lugs, red wheels, rims with red lip, red mirror caps, buy side skirt with red, rear diffuser red, etc.

The red by itself on the bumper looks out of place.
