Spoke with The Lighting Firm, was told labor to install a simple bi-xenon projector retrofit is only $275. That is a pretty good price and right in line with SICKHID's after you pay for the parts. Waiting to hear back if they can supply lights and also what their wait time is like.

On top of their base $325 charge. Not bad, still in line with SickHIDs. Both contingent on you supplying the headlight casings.

I never even seen the 325$ base charge, the 275$ i was quoted must be the actual parts then. Im confused, so im trying to get some clarification.

EDIT: Im a retard you can price this shit right on their website. $325 base charge and $275 for bixenon projector install. So 600$ before shipping.

Aint bad at all!

It's really not for the work. This is one for my "maybe down the road" column.

I do alot of driving down dark desolate highways at night, sometimes for hours, so its actually fairly high on my list. But my car will need tires and brakes long before that, both are equally as expensive as the headlights (for arguments sake), DOH.

If I can get Retros for $750 or less, I'm in. Also depends how long I'll be without headlights... [emoji41]

So a really good idea to find a spare set to send in for the retrofit.

UK headlights have a different (reverse) beam pattern for RHD cars. You'd be throwing extra light in the face of every oncoming vehicle in a LHD vehicle.
I find this VERY hard to believe. Where did you get this information?

This is true.
Although new they are both available from Ford Parts UK.
You need to get the ones designed for Germany (LHD).
Also if I am not mistaken, of the eBay examples above.
These would be the ones with the LED strips.

Wow.. Just wow.
Yes! There is a difference. Get the right gear. I already want to beat the living shit out of any one with HIDs w/o projectors and now you're telling me I have to beat on people that attempt to do it right and fail by installing RHD units in the states?!

Son, School is in session.

And if you don't believe all those search results, if you paid attention to previous posts, we have pictures:

LHD (US and most of the world):

See that bump off to the right (our passenger side)? It's to help illuminate roadside signs that are typically higher than your normal headlight beam cutoff.

Now, compare that to the same headlights, but in the RHD version used in the UK, Japan, (and most other former British commonwealth countries):

See how that bump is on their passenger side, to the left? Same reason, just different traffic directions.

Now, can you understand how RHD headlights on a LHD vehicle can blind oncoming drivers? I hope so.

So, that's a solution for around $500 US?
