At that point, the $800 shipped price for the OEM EU projectors are a bargain.
Yes I agree!!! At some point I'm gonna pull the trigger on them. At even 8 hundred dollars are hard to swallowed for head lights . At this point I don't see a company coming out with projects like for for the fost for 450.

SICK HIDS will do a retrofit for $580.00. You need to provide your headlights. They will install Bixenon (high and low beam in one) projectors. Retrofit includes one set of Morimotos, additional cost for two sets of Morimotos. I get plenty of light output with only one set of Moris. Includes a set of LEDs for the brights and a set of switchback LEDs for the turn signals. Black paint included for reflectors. sickhids.com.

Id love to have that done but didnt they take approximately 6 months to be done? Also got to factor in the up front cost of an additional 150$ or so for a set of wrecked headlights to use while you ship out yours.

That is by far the best price though, but i am currently talking with The Lighting Firm to see what his "value" headlight would be, IE simply install one projector with no other fancy options for those of us that want a basic upgraded headlight.

The 800$ for EUDM lights is indeed a bargain since then you pay 50-150$ for an HID kit and boom your in the light for 950$ or so and sell your stockers to recoup 200-250$

You can purchase a set of headlights from quirkparts.com, then sell them once you are done, and recoup your costs ($143.00 each)

He only takes paypal [?|] If it wasn't for that, I'd consider it whenever I can consider a mod like this.

Good information, still my only worry is time. Having almost $600 out there for half a year is a bit of a buzz kill. I read some reviews of Sick HID and granted people dont post anything positive, thats not how the internet works! But what i did read was that all too common problem of quoting a timeframe and taking much longer, 5-6 months.

His prices are undeniably good though, and his work looks top notch.

That's a great price but I agree 6 months takes a while .

Hey guys,

Being from the UK, I have the projector lights on my ST. I fitted a Morimoto elite HID kit and they're great.. However, the cutoff is not the neat edge you might see in pictures, it's pretty staggered and there is a glare above the cutoff (though not very bright?).

I'm actually considering retrofitting Morimoto projectors to rectify this as I strive for the perfect output.

If I had Reflector lamps, I'd go straight to retrofitting aftermarket projectors as they will be better for use with HIDs. The EUDM lamps were never designed for anything more than a standard halogen bulb.

James,

That is great information for us across the pond who had that idea. Guess we should just expect to pay for a retrofit. Or some brave soul do a write up and list all parts required.

Wonder how the EUDM's would be with the LED light kits? Anyone know?

I'll try and dig it up tomorrow, but I think so.

Keep in mind there's two types of projector beam patterns. One type is a totally flat beam with a step-up towards the passenger side, the other (like the Fiesta) are flat, then "kick off" on an upward angle toward the passenger side. Both are legal patterns in the US and EU.

I shot an email off to one of the 'recommended retrofitters' on TRS. Happens to be local in San Diego. I'll be curious what he says. I am yearning for that amazing solid cutoff with step-ups.
