Swift springs and Bilstein B8 disappointed

But even the Swifts are too low for my uses, unless I put one of those 'height adder' type front upper mount spacers in with them, and use either some form of weight jackers, and/or the Powerflex rear spring pads. [:(]
You’re an anomaly to be fair. You need your car raised RS200 style

Weird. Usually with overly stiff springs you get intense wheel feel/nvh the opposite of numb. Are you sure they aren't in upside down? Lol jk.

Numb feeling anything on the FiST is sacrilege and shall not be tolerated. My favorite quality of our cars is the accurate feedback from the steering, tires and brakes. It's all about 'the feels'
Lol I made sure they weren't upside down. The car also seems to understeer more now too.

I don't know if numb is the right way to explain it but I definitely don't like the feel. Like I said I think the springs are compressed too much to fit on the b8's to do their job properly. It's all learning and at least it's an easy fix, just more money.

Luckily you should be able to sell the B8's easy since they're hard to get, and RockAuto has the B6's.
Let us know how it goes, so we can settle this debate B6's, or B8's.

Maybe ST Suspensions XT would work... no adjustability on the dampening but you do on the ride height from 0.2" to over an inch...
For the price I'd rather go regular Fiesta b14s or BCs. I've heard great things about the ST XT but maybe not as aggressive as I'd like.

Why not buy the springs meant for the B8’s?

For the price I'd rather go regular Fiesta b14s or BCs. I've heard great things about the ST XT but maybe not as aggressive as I'd like.
But both of those are over an inch drop, was just suggesting something that fit your 0.5" max drop you had said you wanted to go with.

Appreciate the suggestion. I plan on the REGULAR fiesta b14 which should drop less than 1/2". BCs I was under the impression you could go stock height

Good work around to use the regular Fiesta B14 setup for minimal drop, now I'm gonna consider that! But not sure on BC Racing, I haven't been able to find any info on that, so I'll take you at your word there... Looks like KSport may be an option too with both height and rebound adjustable for around $850 for the regular Fiesta model.

have fun finding bilstein stuff anywhere but UK and ebay. The regular fiesta kit seems exactly the same as the ST kit just different ride height. BCs I think it would take some trial and error to get to stock which I'm a little weary of.

I'm scared of any sub $1000 coilover that is adjustable, especially from a brand I'm not familiar with. Surely there's good ones out there, but there's also plenty bad. Meister Rs and ISC were the only others I was considering but no info on the ISC and Meister Rs are all the same drawbacks as BCs plus higher cost since I don't get a discount like I do BC.

Well, when the really cheap ones are $400 and the KSport are made in the USA for $780 (found them even cheaper) it's something I might consider. I simply don't feel you *have* to spend $1400 for quality, $800 actually sounds about right if you don't need camber or pillowtop adjustment... But yeah, saw those ISC as well, I can't find the rate difference between comfort and sport, I'm assuming I could dial in a decent ride on the Sport anyway... But good food for thought!

what makes you think K-Sport is made in the USA?
I have them on one of my Fiesta's and sell them quite often. I can say with confidence beyond anything you've read that they are most certainly made overseas along side of every other $1000 and under coilover

Although the B6, B8, and ST coilover kits have finally arrived back in stock after over a year of being unavailable, the standard Fiesta / Mazda2 coilover kit is still not available from everything I have been told

So I thought this was the combo to go with, it wasn't until after I installed them, that I found the b8's don't allow the swift springs to lower the full 1.1" front and 1" rear. Actually all I've found is the for the rear, no one seems to have issues with the front, or they just haven't measured.

I'm only getting .6" front and .4" rear drop.

I am using powerflex rear spring pads so I knew that would contribute a little to it but I still expected to be closer to an 1" all the way around.

If you are running this combo can you post how much it lowered your car?

Would it be beneficial to swap to bilstein B6 or do you think I have an issue? It could be coilover time, but I don't need more than a one inch drop. Heck .75" all around would be fine.
Swift springs are designed to be used with B6 struts and shocks

I actually run the H&R super sport springs with B8's on our Magnetic 2018. I'd say they handle just as well as my K-Sport coilovers do on the 2017 within reason.

heh, I was browsing all kinds of different coilovers and one site said that,,, but I got them mixed up. I do remember being surprised at the time, but oh well... Anyway, how do you like the Ksport long term on the older FiST or did you change those out too? And if we don't want such a large drop, you think the regular Fiesta ones would work just fine as suggested?

Maybe so, but I DO take it onto the same surfaces/road types as the ONLY world wide real competition series in which the marque/model is somewhat competitive, or in which it has actually WON a championship. [wink] [driving]

I should have said Mountune Clubsport is not a viable option for a guy that drives in the woods 🇺🇸

Swapped out the Bilstein B8's for Koni str.t orange today.

To get the swift springs on the b8's I had to compress the crap out of them. I was able to install them on the Koni's by hand.

I left the powerflex rear spring pads on but it already looks lower than with the b8's.

I'm going to let things settle in again and measure the drop, but I can already tell it looks better.

Don't be like me, if you have swift springs, use b6's or Koni's.
