Hello, I’m an St’s MK8 happy owner but after last oil change (@ 24kkm) I started to have (not immediately I discovered, around @28kkm, in summertime with hot temperature) an issue related to a small leakage from valve’s cover (the higher gasket).
My question for you, please, is to have your opinion for possible root cause, because, like I know, for this engine this is not a common problem:
it could be a strong reason if during maintenance intervention in Ford workshop they put less oil than required?
This engine has 4.75L oil cup (previous version, not the last 6.1L one) and when I discovered the “lack” in workshop, after 1 week from maintenance intervention and few hundred km, checking the level by engine oil dipstick and I saw level below the minimal I added 0.9L reaching a level 1 step (of 5 there are) below from the Max. This would mean in the Ford wokrshop they put in the engine more/less 3.5 L not 4.75L … 1.25 L less!
Finally, This could be a root cause for general engine over-heating with permanent damage in the valve’s cover gasket?
