The new service manager found out I have an LSD in there and does not want to do the diff swap at all, just a trans swap. He says something to the effect he feels it should not be covered under warranty. He told his advisor to call and tell me that. Just going off that, it sounds like the mgr did not go back to Ford and tell them yet.
I told the advisor to tell him he can't take my LSD and ship it back to Ford as that would be very bad. This new service mgr will not call me either. Advisor said that's how he is. At the least, I told the advisor I'll check and see if I do still have the open diff in the garage. I'm 99% sure I have it. If I do, he can possibly do that, but it still requires a single swap, at my cost. That would acceptable to me. He thinks the mgr may not even go for that. Then I go back to the perf shop and have them do the swap...again.
Well, we all know the basics of the Magnuson-Moss act. The FTC says the manufacturer or dealer must show that the aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before denying warranty coverage. The service manager appears to be on a lower-level mode of thinking by refusing to talk to customers, so I don't even know whether he knows about it, cares about it or thinks I'm dumb. I already emailed my previous case's lawyer. He's being the bully right now and I have to think intellectually and rationally, rather than emotional and irrational. But they will not let me car sit there long at all. They will be quick to react and probably refuse to do ANY work (assume they have not removed my trans, which I just realized I forgot to ask if it has been removed).
