Slippery Clutch Pedal?

Has anyone else noticed the clutch pedal is rather slippery? I noticed my foot slides around on it while going on and off the clutch (parking/reversing/etc.) I noticed this also in my '19 Civic Si that I sold recently... though in that car, the pedal seemed to get more grippy with miles, or I just got used to it. Is it the same case with the FiST?

Otherwise, are there alternative pedal covers available other than the OMP universal kit I've seen a few people using?

Perhaps a different pair of shoes? In regular traffic, this should not be a problem - on a track, I’d recommend a thin soled grippy shoe.

I drive with flip-flops all the time,
even in traffic. Never had an issue.

I have not found this to be a problem, and I drive the car wearing different pairs of shoes. I would also recommend trying some different shoes, maybe something with kind of a grippy rubber sole like some athletic shoes.

Grip tape is a good idea. These are with the same regular sneakers I use to drive the Miatas and the old Civic. It's not an issue in traffic but only when reversing/parking in a tight spot really. Probably just something I'll get used to and forget about anyway - I've owned the FiST for all of 20 hours so far.

It does happen to me a lot when it's raining outside. Wet shoes don't grip the pedal well. Also with some harder shoes it does slip a bit.

Only when I have snow on my shoe or my shoe is covered in snow. Boot in the snow....snow in the Boot.

Make sure it isnt brake fluid leaking down the pedal arm. That was the only symptom when the clutch master cylinder lost a seal on my old car. The fiesta ST has a plastic master like my zx3 did.

It was a slow trickle until I went to go home from work, a 65 mile trip and the cylinder gave out completely. Got in the car to leave and had no clutch. Luckily I shifted with out the clutch and limped it home.

I might expect some slipping with a heavy clutch, but this thing is a feather!

Re ZX3, on THE hottest days of the Summer, after sitting in traffic, my 'scort started lubing my shoes with transmission fluid. Why? I filled to max when it was cold. (think, metal/fluid expansion) How? Blew a seal in the speed sensor, which has a cable running up to the speedometer in the dash cluster. So fluid would run up the cable, drip out of the back of the speedometer, and make its way back down to my shoes. Did have a seal in the brake master go as well. Didn't really piss on my shoes like the trans leak, but left my soles wet. I think all of this was somewhere between 250 and 300k miles. Even then, didn't have issues with slippery pedals though.

Most of my issue is wet shoe soles. Lol. I still get wary and check the arm of the pedal.

My Escort LX pissed on my shoes as well. I think it was a red liquid (it’s been awhile) - perhaps transmission fluid? I sold it before I could address the issue.
