Should I get an oil cooler?

Just curious if y'all think an oil cooler from mishimoto would be worth it if I only do street driving. I just do pulls here and there. I've seen my oil temp go from 185-190 to 210 during pulls. Idk if that's bad or considered overheating.

That's low. I haven't taken a nice, hard drive since installing my oil temp. gauge but you usually want to see oil run above 212 to vaporize any water. Are you using a real gauge or the inferred temp on a Cobb AP?

I take that back - I guess these cars run a lower oil temp. than I'm used to. At any rate, 210 is nothing to worry about.

My other car (Avatar) had an oil cooler in it when i bought it. When I had the engine rebuilt, the builder refused to install the engine IF I left the oil cooler hooked up. He said "they're just not needed for the temperatures we get".... (We're in the Pacific Northwest). .. I asked about summer temps when it sometimes sits in the 90's.. he said NOPE. .. "not only are the not needed, BUT.. unless they have a drain plug, when you change your oil, you can never get the dirty oil out of the filter or the hoses that connect the filter to block. You'll always be adding clean oil to dirty oil when you change it. .. Now THAT is enough reason for me right there. Never being able to have clean oil in the car!

I personally think it's a bit over kill for a street car that might never see the track but I would look the misihimoto radiator. If you want to help take the edge off

the ST has a factory oil cooler, so no need to buy another one. If you aren't getting the oil temp over 212'F, you aren't removing the moisture in the oil. Overcooling is not a good idea.

i wont be bothering even with track days as where i live your lucky if we break 25c in mid summer. if i lived in a warmer climate i would definitely get one
