Good to hear...And thanks for allowing Seibon to look over your Fiesta! After speaking with Ryan today its unlikely that Seibon is going to offer just hood vents...If that's the path you like to take then it would be best if you order some ABS style vents and have someone install them for you (which I'm sure you've already considered)...

Here are RS style ABS hood vents for anyone interested in just the RS style hood vents...

http://www.sico-developments.co.uk/...iesta-st/products/focus-rs-style-bonnet-vents

I live a mile away from Seibon and I don't mind going over there to talk with them about the vents.
That would be great....Ryan says stop on by!

Just speaking with Ryan it looks like Hood design #2 has a very good chance of getting done by Seibon by still not confirmed internally by the team at Seibon yet....I'm planning on being over at Cobb SoCal this Friday and if I have time I'll see if I can swing on by Seibon myself...

I just got home.
As per my conversation with Ryan earlier today, the info is about the same as above.
He and his R&D people are watching this thread to see what we want and might buy.
Although it is not confirmed design #2 may be made.
They also liked the idea I proposed of the RS vents being available for a separate install.
We will just have to wait and see what develops.

I just got an email from Seibon Carbon.
Unfortunately they have decided NOT to make the RS vents separately.

They may still be making a CF hood with the vents in it.

That's not a bad thing...I prefer to get the hood with the vents rather than risk cutting into the stock hood and damaging it.

Got an update from Ryan yesterday over at Seibon that they have officially decided to move forward with hood design #2 which has the RS style vents....More info will be updated as to estimated release dates in about a month from now...

Also....Just a quick teaser.... but another FiST vented hood design (which already had been designed internally) may be released even sooner which IMO looks amazing!

Can you check to see if they can offer a pre painted version?

Perhaps they can make it a bit less costly with a simpler finish before painting to get painted total cost to a reasonable level.

Or, make units that are to be painted or wrapped.

I prefer my cars, most of them very highly modded, to look pretty stock as less attention is good, if I want to prove something I prefer to do it on the track:)

I would even take a blem one if that happens, for the right price.

Gotcha...I'll pass this along to Seibon...don't hurt to ask but not likely they'll go for it....

Since I am now putting in a bit heavier catch can and HID projectors which add a number of lbs I would like to save some weight. I was considering the cost per lb saved and not much else I can do on the front of the car as already put the battery in the rear, removed excess parts like what they used to drop the engine in, some brackets trimmed, washer bottle delete(small one going in the rear of the car) etc.....I need to take a bit more off the front as have taken a lot out of the rear, so much so the car was much more stable under hard braking at 130MPH on track with the tank at least half full.

Thanks:)

Rick

That is also part of the problem.
I want to keep my hood painted.
So replacing the hood, paint, clear protection, and latches/pins, the cost is well over $1000.00.
Again for just a few pounds.

Although I was hoping to work with a local company, Seibon suggested to me, other companies that make just the vents in CF.
The other possibility would be the Ford factory parts.
I am not too sure the quality of the ABS version is what I want.
I am now perusing that avenue and I will provide updates.

Yeah Seibon definitely is not interested in offering just vents...Nice that they did recommend some other companies that might be willing to offer just the CF vents....

And its always good to have other options available Dave...I'm sure you'll keep us updated in a new thread...thx :)

Update:

I should have some new pics available within the next few days from Seibon on yet another vented hood design that Seibon had already been developing for the FiST...Similar in design to design#2 however the 2 vents / heat extractors in this design appear far more integrated into the hood design...I've already seen some pics (very nice!)...Seibon plans to have this available for sale fairly soon and a group buy will follow....

Ryan said he'd have the final press release / catalog pics of the new FiST vented hood available to post sometime this week...

I called yesterday, talked to Alex, very cool, helpful, loves these cars....and asked about pre painted or blem units, ready for paint, etc....and they only do it one way, one layer of UV clear, hardly ever have a blem, only shipping damaged ones on rare occasion, etc....

They will do some sort of group buy for us and do have Military discounts...

I have had one or two trunks and at least that many hoods from them for other cars, great products always.

yes indeed! I too have found Seibon to be very enamoured and enthusiastic about developing and planning to offer a few different body parts for the FiST...very nice to see and hear!

As soon as they are ready to do a group buy I will post more details with pricing....should be very soon

A bit off topic....

I'm not sure is everyone is aware of this but if you do have prior military service most retailers will give you an addition 5~10% discount off the price...

That's including big box stores these days such as Home Depot and Lowes and well as many many other aftermarket parts suppliers such as Cobb...I always take advantage of this being a former Marine with 6 yrs of active service which was way to many years ago to mention! ;)
