Sheesh, the OP bounced from here to trash the FiSTforum, and they wouldnt bite. Dude doesnt have loyalty anywhere does he?

Well I was gonna bite my tongue but ...... I am not lol . I pretty much called his MO awhile back. When he did not get the approval he was seeking here for his conclusions he took the them elsewhere . Which is I might add a bit trollish.
If he was a true Fiesta fan he would have stuck around and took the criticisms and disagreement. Instead he went to the FoST forum to hear people say yes you are right the FoST is a better car.
There is like one person over there speaking out about the FiST a autocross guy Gemery . Who talks about a couple of people supposedly bicycling their FiST’s in autocross.
It reminds of the posts I saw a few years ago about a person rolling their FiST again in Autocross . Funny thing is there are a fair amount of people Autocrossing their FiST’s here who have not bicycled or rolled their FiST’s yet have repeatedly place high in their class if not win their class. Their are guys tracking FiST’s . I will admit I did see a vid of the AET guys in England bicycling their car at a race track in extreme competition.
I was kinda shocked because you can push these cars really hard and tripod sure but bicycle? I am guessing you would have to strike a track curb ( yes even race tracks have curbing) to bicycle the car. Either that or someone has made really bad suspension and tire choices.

Ill add my 2 cents. I did one of those st test drive things when both cars were new. The focus ran the same time around the cones as the fiesta. So where is that extra power and money going? Into its fat ass.

Because as the time to buy has come closer and closer I see threads started and replied to less and less. Also, when I was first researching I noted how slow the forums where. (MAYBE a topic a day, lots of no new topics for days at a time.)

I agree with the FB comment. I only have an account to talk to my family from time to time, since they're scattered across the US. I visit that site about once a week, and most FB Fiesta ST posts are people posting up pics and saying how much they love their cars. Great, but really not a 'forum.'

Keeping in mind I don't blame the forum too much in the lack of life. The car is dead, and it will only get worse as time goes on. So be it. It's the same with my motorcycle. It stopped being made in 2014, so forums are slowing down and down. Oh well.

Superchargers have their place...Ive owned an Bonneville SSEI and after some intercooler mods and smaller pulleys with Tune...god dam that thing was the best Road trip car ever and would blow doors off a lot of vehicles. They are a force to reckoned with when done up right. Rode down the road like a yacht in the ocean.

Funny you mention that, I have an SSEI in my garage and I almost wanted to drop the L67/trans into a Fiero to boot!

So I've had my FiST for about a month now and I thought I would write up a brief comparison to my FoST (technically my wifes).

And I got to say...... unfortunately........... the FoST is superior in virtually all meaningful ways.

Anyway, thought some of you might find this write up interesting! Also, don't get defensive, I love my FiST and I can't wait to start digging into it. Heck, it's why we got it! The wife was adamant that our FoST was staying stock!

Thanks for the post...these are well-thought-out and intelligent observations. Many might disagree, but we each get our opinion and I enjoyed reading yours.

I haven't driven a FoST but I have driven many many cars...friends with great cars have let me have seat time in them, such as a newer Mustang GT, an Audi S3, several STis, a couple Acuras, many Toyotas and Hondas and some vintage cars too like a Fiero GT and my new beater Prelude SH. Many many more...my point is that every time I get back in my Fiesta ST I'm like "Wow this is really a special, well-engineered car." I mean it's special. Special like the 1991 SE-R I owned. Every once in a while a special car comes along, it's just right and you know it. I've owned the FiST for 4 years now and I still feel that way when I get in it especially after driving a different (and in many ways nicer) car. Sure it's not the fastest car and the interior is super simple and (mostly) rental-car grade. But still, the steering, the engine, the visibility, the driving dynamics, the handling, the connection drive gets with road - the FiST is a unique car for sure.

I bet 20 years from now there will be very little memory of the FoST - it's just another variant of the same package you get in a WRX or Mazda speed3 or similar. The FiST, however, will be remembered and celebrated as one of those unique special cars that came, went, had a brief moment of glory and was soon forgotten by the masses, but still held as a treasure by people that actually enjoy cars and appreciate the heart and soul put into a particular car that makes it special. Finding a well-loved FiST in 20 years will be the search for a unicorn. Some of us here might still have theirs...I plan to!!!!
