There is a bit more woosh sound and you can definitely hear it with the windows down. But, having the intake inside the airbox really helps with IATs and performance. I'm pushing the engineering team to get production ready for release ASAP! It kills me when we can't get you guys the parts when you want them!

How about adding a small turbine in the intake to boost the whoosh? Or would that make it sound like those stupid party favors you associate with clowns slipping on banana peels?

Ian, IMO the stock airbox is tacky and I think we could of gone about it a better way by utilizing a custom aluminum air box with a cone filter like how you have it on the 2013 STI.

This would provide more sound for the people looking for sound and aluminum would do a great job at keeping the heat out.

Will COBB be offering the intake in any color options besides Black ??
Most likely just black.

The stock airbox does a really good job of keeping the heat off of the filter, much better than aluminum. We use ABS for our Mazdaspeed airbox with impressive results (as far as consistency in IAT).

^^This. It's the same issue with the CP-e for the Focus ST. Plexiglass and aluminum (I believe). Those do nothing to help keep intake temps down.

I'm perfectly fine with abs as the material of choice. Looking stock is a nice plus as well.
