So,

As I have watched a many video at this point on youtube with Fiesta ST's and their projector conversions, and seen the pictures of people pointing their vehicles at garage doors, I wonder if I am missing something?

I live in North Carolina, and we have many animals that like to commit suicide. When I look at the videos of the vehicles down the straight away, the lights project really far out but in a very narrow beam not leaving any lighting showing off to the sides to give warning of something on the side of the road.

After careful consideration and certainly not a money concern, I opted for an HID setup replacing the factory bulb. While it doesn't go out as far as the projectors, it does give me a wider view to see the sides of the roads and they do go out farther than the factory lights.

What I would like to do now, is supplement that with HID projectors but in the fog light position. Which in theory should get me further out than the HID setup up top, but not be scattered and able to see further.

The LED Fog replacement is not good enough. It has way too much scatter and does not project far enough.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction as to which Projector housing to start with on this mod.

HIDs in reflectors are not kind to the eyes of the people headed towards you. I personally drive with my fogs and headlights on when it's dark. The fogs fill in the lower and go out to the sides a bit more than the headlights and they are pointed down so they aren't doing anyone any harm. I haven't done extensive driving out in the country in my Fiesta, but the stock high beams seemed sufficient and miles better than my old car. The reason you go projectors is to correctly add HIDs, which do have more correctly focused output with projectors. As long as you don't go with too blue of a temperature the output is brighter than the stock bulbs. The cutoff line makes the light output look really clean and you don't blind people. And for out in the country driving you still have high beams and you can retrofit projector HID high beams as well. High beams are what you want to use to see critters out in the dark though, if you can see really well with your low beam HIDs in your reflectors then you are most definitely blinding people.

Videos and pictures don't show how the lighting truly looks to the naked eye. A lot of times a camera will only pick up the brightest points of the light even though usable light to the eye goes out further to each side of the road.

LED lighting is mostly for show. You really only see a different color rather than a lumens increase.
