Not lowered.
The great part of this tire setup is I don't feel the need to be lowered since the tire helps fill the wheel gap.
Plus I drive through North Dakota and Minnesota winters, so lowering the Fiesta anymore then it is from the factory isn't a priority for me.

You wont feel the lag of 205/45 tires unless you get super light wheels and tires. I had Sparco Assettos which weighed 16lbs with General Tires that weighed 18lbs and didnt feel the lag. I instantly felt the quick acceleration from that setup compared to the stock wheels 22.5lbs and Tires 19lbs.
Doogie - thank you for confirming that hypothesis. Like I said, I was thinking my perception of lag is due to the fact that I put 205/45/17's on a wheel which is the same weight as stock (turns out that is probably true). I really like more sidewall, both from comfort and aesthetics. the 205/45 looks WAY better than 205/40 did. My car actually looks lowered at times.

So if you get lighter wheels with 45s you won't feel the lag? Is that what you're saying?

I was thinking of doing 16 inch lighter wheels with 205/45 because they're the closing diameter to stock; which I heard is what you want when sizing up or down from stock.

I can give you some visual answers to your questions that might help...

Here is a 17x7 +42 with 205/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza S04 on 100% stock suspension.

Here is a 17x7 +42 with 205/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza S04, lowered 1.75" on coilovers

Here is a 17x7 +42 with 215/40/17 Dunlop ZII Star Specs, lowered .65" on coilovers

how is road noise with those tired? like stock?

The S04's are super quiet. I'd probably say better than stock.

The Dunlop ZII SS get louder after every event and sound like 10,000 angry bees chasing you around. Which is why I only have them on to go to and from events and the events themselves.

I have 16x7 e45 pro race 1.2 wheels in black gloss on order and really thinking of going 205/50/16.

What made you choose 45? Just asking because I've seen a lot of people choose 42 like the sparcos.
Wanted an offset as close to stock as possible to try 205/50/16 tires and hope it doesnt rub lowered. If it still does then ill just raise it to stock level.
