Just a quick post on my fix for the P219A code (Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance) after installing a new intake. I specifically installed the Whoosh Motorsports Short Ram V2, which is a cold-ish air intake. It worked well for a few weeks, but the CEL popped up soon after.
The Fix:
- Stuff Needed: MAF sensor cleaner. Make sure to use this cleaner ONLY. You can scoop one up at your local parts store for like 10 bucks.
1. Make sure that this is your only CEL. If there are multiple, it might point to a different issue.
2. Turn off the vehicle and unplug your MAF sensor (the one mounted in your intake) from its harness.
3. Unscrew the MAF sensor and spray liberally with MAF sensor cleaner. Chrisfix has a video on this:

.
4. While the MAF sensor is drying, turn on the car and let it idle for 20-30 seconds. The ECU will realize that the sensor is no longer plugged in and reset to the default air-fuel mixture. When you plug the MAF sensor back in, it should relearn the new air-fuel mixture that results from the colder air coming in through an aftermarket intake.
5. Turn off the car. After ensuring that the MAF sensor is fully dry (DO NOT WIPE), screw the MAF back into its housing, and plug it back into its harness.
6. The CEL should clear. Go for a drive!
