Just got word my car is in Chicago which is about 2.5 hours north of me. Dealer said it could still take a week and a half to get here. So close but yet so far.

My dealer told me 6 weeks to delivery, but I think that is extremely optimistic from what I’ve read in this thread. Dealer hasn’t really told me a straight answer about when I’ll get the VIN either, mostly just a “We’ll let you know” kinda thing. [paranoid]

Sorry, the dealer doesn't know. They're going by what they are used to with normal car orders. But the FiST is a little different.

I'm well connected with the dealership I ordered my car from as I sometimes borrow their cars for review on my blog... They are one of the biggest dealerships in this county. Even they didn't get it right. In fact, I told my contact. "Nope, dude, not 6-8 weeks. It will be 10-14 weeks. In fact. What's your favorite coffee drink? Ok, this is mine. You're buying me coffee when you lose this bet." [paraprashing]. Hehe. I won the bet. Delivery for mine is in 2 weeks.

I don't think there is a single member who received their car in 6 weeks... 8 weeks is the fastest that I've seen but it was a bit of an outlier.

Expect 10-12 weeks for delivery. Mine was delivered in 10. There are some outliers that took about 16 though :(

The dealer will know absolutely nothing about your car delivery timelines... Harass them for your VIN on a regular basis (ie. weekly or so) then message Meagan (Ford Service) to see if she can help you out with a timeline. Eventually you will be able to look up a build date in ETIS. Message Meagan again after your build date to get an idea of the shipping time. Good luck! Maybe start perusing some vendors for upgrades while you wait?

Thanks, 10-12 weeks is about what I thought as well judging by other people's experience here, I figured I'd get the car as Winter ends. Which may be a good thing because I'm not too thrilled about buying winter tires right away. Considering it's only been 2 weeks since order, I don't expect much from the dealer in terms of status updates. I told them to give me the VIN the second they get it and I will message Meagan as soon as I get that.

In the meantime, yes I have all my parts picked out already. [cool]

If you have your order number and dealer code, I can actually start tracking your order now! [twothumb]

Ordered Jan 5. Just today dealer quoted the build date as Mar 2.
[welcome]

If you'd like me to track your order, just send over (via PM) your order number and dealer code. Judging by your order date, I'm pretty sure you'll still be in order processing at the moment.

What sorcery is this? A manufacturer rep that reads forums and pro actively offers help?

I'll ask my sales rep and send that information your way. Thanks!

Get used to it - they are always on here trying to help out... [smoking]

I didn't order mine, but I have a pretty good understanding of how long it took to get to the dealership I ended up getting it from (which was not the dealership I did the paperwork and bought from). My car has a build date of 5/14/14 and I purchased it on 7/30/14 (or something like that). I suspect it had been sitting on the dealer lot for maybe a week before they transported it down to the dealer I purchased from. That's only 10-11 weeks right there... mine must've been one of the quick builds.
