Oil on top of valve cover

2016 with 25,000 miles

Can't find where it's coming from.

Bottom of cover is clean.

Changed plugs a couple days ago, cleaned it, but it's back already.

Stumped.

Hey SD,

Not that I can find. No oil lines, hoses or anything in that area. Never enough to drip, almost looks like condensation.

I meant the fomoco hose that is in the picture, is there a hole in it?

It looks like whatever the substance is may be spraying out from that direction. What color is the stuff?

** MYSTERY SOLVED **

Put the cover back on, then took it off 30 minutes later to check that hose and the spot was back. Engine had not been started.


Turns out the foam on the bottom of the cover has oil in it and it gets squeezed out when installed.
