Oetiker (ear) clamp vs. hose clamp

So I was changing the CV boot today, and when it came to tightening the oetiker clamp (the small one on the inside), I crimped it when it was slightly off the boot. Once crimped, it's done and given that I already put everything back together, the only way to secure the boot was to use a hose clamp. Thus, I am wondering why Ford uses ear clamps for this application - is there something wrong with the hose clamps in that location? Or is this because the ear clamps are cheaper?

Oetiker clamps are better. Constant pressure and don’t come lose. Commonly used on fuel lines and things that need the best seal possible. Just order a few and redo it.

Thanks.

I have more; it's just I am not at all inclined to disassemble the half shaft and the CV joint just for the clamp... Took me most of the afternoon, as I don't do these things often enough. I'm going to keep an eye on this - not really expecting it to come loose...
