At my last fill up (gasoline) my predicted mileage went to 400 miles of range left. .. I drove home, about 25 miles and it was down to 396. The next time I started the car it was at 399, I drove around a bit today, and it started at 396 and went down, after about 5 miles to 395. When I started again it was at 396. I drove about 10 miles and it went down to 390.. I've now gone about 35 miles on the tank and the gas gauge still reads full... I know that often the gauge doesn't move until almost 2 gallons have been used from full, but ...

Is it the computer or the gas gauge (float?) that's the issue? ..

Next time I drive I'' poke the flap in the filler tube and see if that does anything..

IDEAS?

This is kind of a long shot, but how fresh is your battery? The reason I ask is that from reading on this forum through the years I have seen all sorts of weird seemingly unrelated electrical issues caused by a weak battery. I think what may happen is that as it gets weaker it shifts its power to core functions and less critical ones don't get the power they need.

It seems strong.. It starts the car just fine. No slow cranking. No indications that it's going bad.
