So got my Stratified tune a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to go out on a closed road and try the 0-60 and 1/4 mile... Well, stock by gearing, I should be able to hit 62 MPH in 2nd gear, but with my Strat tune I can only hit about 58... I DID hit 60 my very first run but after that I've been unable to ht 60, I bounce off the redline, right before... I thought the tune included raising the redline a bit, but either way I really feel I should be able to hit 62 in 2nd as a stock car but I'm not.

Hmmm..interesting. I was always under the impression that the reason our FiST's stated 0-60 time is so slow is due to requiring the shift into 3rd to hit 60. I usually don't seek to bounce off the fuel cutoff, but in both stock and with my current Strat tune, the only way I get to 60 while in second is to coast after hitting about 57. Not smart enough to know if it is safe to tune above that redline.

But you will probably get a bunch of responses about how our car isn't made for 0 - 60...handling...and so on...they are coming! [wiggle]

Right on, good to hear I'm not the only one but from what I've read in numerous places is that 2nd is geared for 62 and most tunes raise the redline to 7000-7200... I would have thought like you that our 0-60 isn't great due to that needed 2nd shift, especially when I got lucky and managed to hit 60 in 6.6 with a bad launch on my very first try! LOL... Anyway, thanks again for your experience, let's see what others say, hopefully they won't get "preachy", I just thought for sure I've read in multiple places that we should be able to hit 62 in 2nd...

What about slightly larger diameter tires? Would that be enough to get over the hump?

I'm no longer worried about it... I thought I had read we were geared for 62 in 2nd but we're not, that extra shift is exactly what costs us in 0-60 stats, I'm just going to focus on 1/4 mile now... That said, when I replace my tires I'm going up to 215's w/same ratio so will be slightly taller, maybe give it a try then. :)
