Who has tried what type of pads with minimal dust issues? I'm getting tired of cleaning my wheels quite often....any ideas or personal experiences are welcome.[rockon]

I'm just getting the ford pads forever....fine with me since they are performance oriented and you must scrifice some dusting for better stopping.

There is a thread here stating that the updated OEM pads from Ford are more street-oriented, and the "old" pads are now considered a race part. Haven't seen many/any people share firsthand experience with the updated pads though.

AFAIK, the updated 'street' pads come with the all-weather tire package. The 'track/old' pads come with the summer tire package.

So, anyone who received all-season tires with their 2016 FiST should be able to chime in.

Lol I have a 2016 and thought there's no way a pad could be dustier than what I have...until you clarified with remarks about all weather tires. I have summer tires. These are the dustiest brakes I've ever experienced. I feel like someone grabbed carbon dust by the handful and just pelted my wheels even after a couple days.

I've got a '15 with the all season tires (so can't say what the updated pads are like), but recently I switched to EBC Red pads due to the dust as I didn't want to have to keep cleaning the wheels as often (mostly due to winter coming up). While I'll be keeping the OEM pads as a reserve in case I need to replace them and they are on back-order again (took nearly 2 months for them to arrive) and they only have maybe 3400 miles on them, I don't plan on going back to non-ceramic. After the first 50-60ish miles (break-in/seating) there's been little to no noticeable dust accumulation even after two weeks.

I have Hawk PC pads. I haven't cleaned my car in maybe a month, and there's less than half the amount of brake dust the stock pads would have generated.

Are there any pads that offer the mega bite and stopping power of the stock dusty pads but without the dust?

I don't know. I do know that what you're feeling is initial bite, and standing on the OEM brakes kills the rotors. Mine were done after 25k miles. Lots of mountain carving, data logs, half mile and quarter mile runs. At least 6000 of my miles came from traveling x-country to events, cutting up the mountains, racing it and then traveling back home.

I killed my first set of front pads at 16-17k miles or so. Rear pads were done at 32k miles. My front rotors and second set of pads are now TOAST at 37k.
I'm looking to upgrade the pads and lines. I already ordered new oem rotors.
How does everyone feels about the pads they are using currently that are NOT oem ?

I'm using $21 advanced autoparts pads in my rear, lol. Seem to be doing just fine, but I need something with some power on the front.

Mountune ever get there package sorted out?

Mountune street and race pads are in the ford racing parts manual. Not sure if they were in there before... But according to the forum, the street ones they make by hawk have no bite and the race ones are advertised to be noisy and hard on rotors. I'm just looking for the best option. You can never have too much brake! I'm pretty lift on my brakes but I'm thinking of doing a hub conversion once my rotors are toast anyway.

I have tried Autozone's best, Hawk Street/Race, stock Fist, find the OEM pads are the best compromise for street and tracking. OEM front pads wear pretty fast in severe track use. None of my research suggests there is a pad that is kind to rotors, adequate for tracking, and good for street. OEM is really about the best compromise available from what I can tell.

Seems like the price for great brakes is regular replacement of pads and rotors.
