Picked up my Performance Blue FiST (w/moonroof, no other options) 10 days ago, a bit under 400 miles on it now. Loving everything about it except for the grabby brakes. Came from a 2000 Miata, so the difference is pretty dramatic. Still feel like I'm sitting too high, but I'm sure that will fade with time. It's a 39-month lease, so I won't be doing any mods.
Love that the car is fairly docile (other than the jouncy ride) if you take it easy, but that it pulls like mad when you ask for it. Coming from the Miata, the FiST definitely doesn't feel as immediate and connected, but is leaps and bounds more modern in every way, and still plenty of fun.
Actually hadn't heard about the Fiesta ST until a couple months ago while reading the comments on an article regarding the horsepower drop in the 2016 Miata, where a couple people mentioned the "new Fiesta ST that everybody seems to love". Did a bit of research and liked what I found, did a test drive a few weeks back to make sure there wasn't a deal breaker anywhere (that car was red w/Recaros, neither of which I wanted for my car). My first car was actually a 1980 Fiesta, so it feels a bit like completing a circle.
Still not sure I won't eventually end up in another Miata down the line, as I really did love that car, but the lease deal on the Fiesta was much better than I could find for an NC Miata (which I never really loved), and I didn't want to wait until Fall to get a new car (I'd been driving the Miata for 10.5 years, had 170k miles on it). I've actually never seen another FiST on the road around me (southwest CT), so I feel a bit unique for the moment.
