Noobish question so bear with me. Installed a new intercooler .... before I could hear the blow off WHOOSH / PSSSSH release sound fairly obviously.
BUT now , I hear turbo spooling up , but not really the whoosh sound that it had before. Same charge pipes , just beefier intercooler. Car has great idle and will drop to a rock steady idle after high revs.
Driving doesn’t seem affected , but wondering about blow off valve . Is there a way to know “ directly “ if blow off valve is stuck or because it is Oem that it might needing upgrade. There is no tune on car ... yet.

Wondering If there is way to know if blow off valve is faulty or what else it could be. Would I notice a lag or maybe a flat spot under load ?

Confused.

A blow off valve & intercooler should not effect each other at all. If the car is behaving properly, the valve is working properly. The OEM unit is "fine" untill you start running higher pressures. The only possible connection I could think of is if you had such a massive air leak that the blowoff would not be needed at all. Pretty certain you would notice the lack of horsepower. I would not worry about it.

If its stock...its a Bypass valve/ BPV. NOT a Blow off Valve/ BOV. Food for thought!
